Need help with iptables for non-router pixelserv

Even better, the latest pi-hole (FTL) can be configured to return an arbitrary IP (BLOCKINGMODE=IP-NODATA-AAAA and REPLY_ADDR4=xx.xx.xx.xx). The docs haven't been updated yet, but the release notes mention this. Okay, that certainly explains what I'm seeing. Any ideas for what I could do to...

Need help with iptables for non-router pixelserv

I am in the process of moving from a Diversion setup on the router to a Raspberry-pi based pi-hole setup. (If you're wondering why, my goal is to allow family members to access/view/update whitelists using a general web UI). In conjunction with this I'd like to run a pixelserv-tls on the...

vnStat [Release] vnStat-on-Merlin - UI, CLI and email - data use and data limit monitoring - R1 and R2

Similar situation here, I don't have vnstat configured for email, nor do I have Diversion configured for email. I like the instructions, and they would be helpful IF I had email summaries configured. Since I don't, it's just nagging me to no purpose and thus not helpful... A minor annoyance at...

    ntpMerlin ntpMerlin v3.x

The router is built with a "good enough" crystal, but not that critical since it is assumed you are going to have some form of time sync. 15 ppm is still less than a minute per month, so as a wall clock you might not even notice. That said, drift is the the rate by which the system’s clock...

Unbound unbound_manager (Manager/Installer utility for unbound - Recursive DNS Server) - General questions / discussion thread 2

Thanks @chongnt, always handy to have another tool in the toolbox :) I found the key is to run dig on a client and make sure it shows resolution by the router. For example, with no additional options, dig reports my external DNS on the router (as you mentioned), but on my local client it shows...

Unbound unbound_manager (Manager/Installer utility for unbound - Recursive DNS Server) - General questions / discussion thread 2

I hadn't noticed before, but it's effectively a logarithmic scale, each bar is twice the time of the bar prior. The 0-1µs is thus ~30,000x the 16-32/32-64ms ranges. That's actually FOUR orders of magnitude faster! Caching is awesome . Even so, 200ms passes in the blink of an eye... Is...

Unbound unbound_manager (Manager/Installer utility for unbound - Recursive DNS Server) - General questions / discussion thread 2

I'm wondering how people deal with firmware upgrades. Every time I do one, my graphs look like this: It sounds like if I remembered to "dumpcache" I could save the cache? (Remembering being a different challenge ;)) The other thing I wonder is whether the graph itself could allow only showing...

    CakeQOS CakeQoS-Merlin v2.0.0 alpha

In the stats section, I was dividing the 'Drops' number by the 'Packets Sent' number and multiplying by 100 for a percentage. FYI, dropping my bandwidth number from 80 (94%) to 77.5 (91%) improved the drop rate from 1.7% down to 0.5% so I feel like this might be a nice alternate to all the...

    CakeQOS CakeQoS-Merlin v2.0.0 alpha

So I'm not worrying, but I notice my download is around 1.7% dropped, with bandwidth set to 94% of speedtest (80 instead of 85). I'm going to try dropping back to 77.5 (91%) for a while and see how that goes... I hate "losing" the bandwidth, but responsiveness is likely more noticeable...

Scribe Feature to support AiMesh node(s) log?

You are so close! It turns out since you want the general zmeshSystem.log to be the default, you need to name it so it is last in alphabetical order. That's because the @include in syslog.conf loads in alphabetical order. Normally that doesn't matter, but in your case the zmeshSystem filter is...

Scribe Feature to support AiMesh node(s) log?

Good point, I may be referring back to this thread :) For a node-specific setup, full credit goes to @JGrana (post #3) To log content to a node-specific file, try something like the files below. Also, comment out the "source(net);" line in /opt/etc/syslog-ng.conf (that I had you add) so the...

Scribe Feature to support AiMesh node(s) log?

I spent some time working on all the ideas from this thread, especially the approach by @Digimite, and wanted to condense everything into one post. Here's my setup: Main router: full Merlin + entware + scribe + uiScribe AiMesh node: Merlin + scripts enabled, no entware/scribe needed I took...

    ntpMerlin What is ntpMerlin?

That was a really cool video, watching all those metronomes in sync was downright spooky! Speaking of oscillations, check this out: I'm pretty sure it is an analog to ambient temperature. Though also you know how Merlin 386 increases CPU temp? Guess when I installed it? (The second spike was...

Release Asuswrt-Merlin 386.2 is now available

That's a common problem. From the changelog: - NOTE: due to changes in how custom device icons are handled, first time you boot with 386.2 you need to either shift-reload the main index page, or clear your browser cache.

scMerlin scMerlin v2 - Service and script control menu for AsusWRT-Merlin

I have both possible, with http being just in case something goes wrong with the certs (using a pixelserv generated cert). I was hoping it could default to whichever protocol I'm using to get to the scMerlin page. But it's not a big problem, I was just surprised when I tried clicking on a link...

scMerlin scMerlin v2 - Service and script control menu for AsusWRT-Merlin

I really like the 'WebUI Addons' section, but the links included are http, whereas I am using https, so they don't work (they redirect to the login page). Any chance you can match the protocol to that used to access the page? I also have a question about the Addons page itself, is there any way...

Release Asuswrt-Merlin 386.2 is now available

Googling around for blog_request, I found source! https://github.com/RMerl/asuswrt-merlin.ng/blob/master/release/src-rt-5.02hnd/kernel/linux-4.1/net/core/blog.c Line 1485, case NETIF_PUT_STATS, which seems to involve transmitted and received packets, bytes, and multicast. dpsta (?) is the...

Odd error in syslog - BLOG ERROR blog_request :blog_key corruption when deleting flow for ...

For what it's worth, with 386.2 beta3 my AiMesh node (only!) started getting strange messages regarding blog_request as well. If I revert to beta1 they go away. Apr 3 10:20:04 AC86U-OFFICE kernel: blog_request 1502: dev dpsta put_stats (null) (etc...)...

Release Asuswrt-Merlin 386.2 is now available

Just FYI I reverted to beta1 and the messages are gone again. I might have some more time to mess with it tomorrow, might try a reset (it's just an AiMesh node, so I just have to copy my syslog script).

Release Asuswrt-Merlin 386.2 is now available

Updated the main router just fine, but the AiMesh node now has this log message repeating over and over. Zero search hits on google! Beta1 was just fine in this regard. I rebooted the mesh node, same behavior exists. Any ideas? This is remote syslog via ui-scribe, AC86 x 2. Apr 3 10:20:04...
