    Done with the AX86U. Kernel and CPU crash again. Going back to my AC86U. This was even after factory reset.

    It's somewhat about the experience, but mostly having hardware work as it should out of the box..I've been with Asus several years now and hope my new ax86u performs..

    Hopefully this copy of my ax86u is solid. My upgrade n66u>Ac86u>ax86u Will keep my ac86u for some time then probably sell or give to family member.

    I literally set mine up within the last hour..Really want it to perform on Asus stock well, then may move to Merlin again. My AC86U had been rock solid after Asus replaced mine last year. Some places have priced the S higher than the original.

    Your right, just found it (Live in US) ASUS RT-AX86U - WikiDevi.Wi-Cat.RU Anyone know why generic power supply was used instead of Asus branded? Chip supply shortage?

    Yes i know. I'd go for the AX86U again, but man, those issues i had with the 1st one left a sour taste in my mouth. I plugged my AC86U back in and havent missed a beat :)

    Found some locally at Microcenter at $229. Oddly enough, the AX86S is priced at $259. After returning my 1st one, I'm pondering give it a second chance.

    Well...I just found out my local MicroCenter has the AX86U in stock for $229 $30 less than the AX86S they are selling..Pondering giving the AX86U a second chance..What bothers me is it doesnt have FCC certification, unlike my AC86U which has been humming along since i returned the AX86U.

    It was about the AX86U...I just sent it back this morning, and back up with my AC86U. Two factory resets with latest firmware (cabling is all good) couldnt solve this issue. Since these are scarce, i wasnt taking a chance on a waiting for replacement from vendor or Asus.

    I'm somewhat tech savvy. Initially updated to latest firmware, did a reset/initialize, config manually. After 4 days, router rebooted and lost internet connection. I performed same procedure again, and after 7 days same thing. I highly doubt it's the firmware, since i still had a return window...

    Back to my trusty AC86U (returned AX86U with random reboots) Firmware is as good as previous as i had my AC86U running for 7 months straight.
