Yes, that's fine. I see you are using earlier version of ipset blocking script which did not use PREROUTING chain. That's ok.

[Release] Asuswrt-Merlin 380.67 is now available

I don't argue that to cool CPU in Alaska would be easier then in Texas. If we were discussing cooling solutions then yes, one should provide an ambient temperature in order to proper compare cooling methods either stock one or extra fan or liquid nitrogen... BUT we are talking about CPU...

[Release] Asuswrt-Merlin 380.67 is now available

Well, relation ambient <--> router components temps is indicator of how well your cooling solution works. For internal router components matter its current temperature. If your CPU has 100C - it is hot no matter of it's location Texas or Alaska.... Just for curiosity - my house AC settings...

You have extra LF chars in your MatchIP script, remove them with your build-in nano editor... also, your blockstats does not looks into raw CHAIN - this is where this script will install ipset blocks. Basically you should have it like this: alias blockstats='iptables -vL | sed "2q;d"...

well, you have to re-login first. And show me output of : MatchIP let see if you got it in profile correctly, and then: cat /jffs/configs/profile.add.. you must have some non-Linux chars in the script when you copy&paste it. PS: or you know what... do you have ipset script installed? show...

No problem with 380.67 on AC87R running about couple weeks. All 2.4, 5 GHz and wired connections are rock solid. I have active cooling so my temps are : 42C, 49C, 53C. @Andyf66 - what is average temperature of your AC87 router?

Put this code into /jffs/configs/profile.add and you will have MatchIP function. MatchIP() { # Check IP against ipset lists if [ -z "$1" ]; then echo "Specify IP to check through ipset lists. Exiting." else GREEN='\033[0;32m' RED='\033[0;31m' NC='\033[0m' # No Color for...

Redhat27, thanks again for your scripts. I was trying to get rid of script-kiddies scanning and brute-forcing my ssh, vpn ports. Not that I was worried they could break it but just annoyed with all that unwanted noise coming from different directions (mostly from China and then some). So, I...

Yes, I understand [src|dst] concept. But I thought, reading comments in iblocklist-loader-v2 ( "You can also control the inboud/outbound/both traffic for each of the lists: Just modify the [Traffic] column (the last one) in each list), that I can block inboud traffic from say UK but still...

@redhat27 One more thing. I'm playing with blocklist-loader-v2.sh. And country list [src.dst] traffic modifiers kinda reversed or I did not get it. I tested on United-Kingdom. I put UK in BLOCKLIST_INDEXES. If I set traffic field to [src] only then I cannot update my ubuntu (address in UK)...

@redhat27 Thanks, you have wrote nice utility MatchIP. But requirements to install entware (to have USB drive with ext3 available) and then opkg install coreutils-paste kinda too much hassle. You can just replace your "| paste -s" with "| tr '\n' ' ' " and that's it. MatchIP will work...

RT-AC87U with 380.65. One core stuck at 100%

Thanks for the input. I cannot say for sure (just don't remember) regarding interrupts/software interrupts requests numbers but I am sure about CPU's usr/sys and Load averages numbers... nothing was at 100% even at 50%. Those numbers was looks like router was idling. That's what baffled me...

RT-AC87U with 380.65. One core stuck at 100%

Yes, I have. But at that moment I was not using it. And how to explain that there was no activity in top command. Also reboot did not helped. Anyway, I will try to mingle with USB drive next time it happens.

RT-AC87U with 380.65. One core stuck at 100%

I did not saved top printscreen when it happened but the top processes was httpd with about 1% utilization and top command with similar stats. According to top command utilization should not be more then 2-3% but UI showed Core 2 pegged at 100% solid, Core 1 was at usual 1-2%. And like I said...

RT-AC87U with 380.65. One core stuck at 100%

Happens out of the blue. Top command shows nothing. There are no activities, no traffic. Core 2 shows 100% utilization. Reboot did not help. Only power cycle did reset CPU to normal. Log shows nothing unusual. Well, this got me baffled... Have anybody had this issue?

Yeah, you are right those 4 email providers just got hardcoded... and every one but 163.com uses TLS. smtp.163.com uses SMTP on 25 port but it's Chinese... Well, back to the first suggestion. You can save your current asuswrt-merlin config (so later you can restore it easier) and try official...

[Release] Asuswrt-Merlin 380.63_2 is now available

I'm not asking you to choose between firmwares. I'm giving you an idea how to help Merlin in troubleshooting process (if you want to bring this bug to his attention). So, if official firmware could send an email out without reboot then this bug more likely comes from asuswrt-merlin firmware. If...

    Merlin 380.63.2 unexpected results

Looks like it's normal temperature (so they say). Someone (including me) put some active cooling to bring temperature down to 60C. But for couple of days (without cooling) my 87R was running at 77C and did not give me any problems... you know 60C is better temps, so I just stick an external fan...
