Good job and it may make CGNAT easier to deal with. https://forum.tailscale.com/t/cgnat-is-the-problem-nail-is-tailscale-the-hammer/5044

installing TDS 1 Gbit fiber, what equipment and prep work do I need?

Well when Conexon comes the six hopefully RT-AX86U can deal with the former. Already ran the drop, but no ONT. Came and went. All I had to do was swap the Ethernet cables on the WAN from theirs to mine.

    Learning SSH which Connective Tool?

I've used the windows shell version which unfortunately quit working for me recently which is why I went SmarTTY. Besides it's less bare-bones.

Proper Merlin settings for Synology NAS??

I think there's one post were someone created a wiring loop. But they may want to bind the MAC and IP so it can't accidentally change under them and lose access.

Intermittent loss of Wi-Fi since upgrading to 386.7

I agree, and I'm glad I can "roll back" unlike some equipment (didn't help). With that all said I was having WiFi issues, and to resolve everything I blew it all away with a hard reset. Reentered the important stuff, and so far everything works even the RT-N66U which I repurposed as an AP...

Intermittent loss of Wi-Fi since upgrading to 386.7

Well except from a security standpoint one doesn't know it will affect them till it happens. Pretty much all computers have this problem, even routers. Hence the exploits you hear on the news. In other words people upgrade for more than just features but security.

Intermittent loss of Wi-Fi since upgrading to 386.7

Well you're right about "roll of the dice" although my update worked well for a good while, then I noticed I had pages that didn't load on my phone. I had both a better ethernet connection, AND my phone did better connecting using a cellular connection. Kind of a mystery because otherwise all...

    2TB Samsung 980 Pro ($194) Amazon / ($184) Newegg

Didn't say it was. I was point out what's in the sidebar. I answered OP where it was at, and it snowballed from there. Avtellas second mobile photo even agrees with the desktop version. The two photos below are from a different browser were I'm not signed in. So no cookies beyond what everyone...

    2TB Samsung 980 Pro ($194) Amazon / ($184) Newegg

Nope. Amazon might be confused, since anything to the right sidebar applies to what's front and center. Go ahead, click on the above amazon link OP provided and look right and down. It's still there. BTW the part number for the "with heat-sink" is, MZ-V8P2T0CW. The one without is...

    2TB Samsung 980 Pro ($194) Amazon / ($184) Newegg

Amazon US on the right hand side of the page. And when Amazon says "used" it means that there could be damage to the packaging (shipping usually) and they can't sell it as new, but knock off a bit on the price and sell it. You'll see those as Amazon Warehouse deals.

"Used - Very Good" is $199. Otherwise $249.
