DEMONIC POSSESSION!!! Update: FIXED!!! Updated all scripts with AMTM, reboot. Done! I had some weird errors in my log.... repeating many times. May 15 14:46:19 kernel: EXT2-fs (sda2): previous I/O error to superblock detected May 15 14:46:19 kernel: EXT2-fs (sda2): previous I/O error to...

Help setting up VLAN on ASUS RT-AC68U

I am trying to build a similar setup to yours. Been trying to determine if VLANswitch.sh would help, but don't know yet. Distribution of this script seems to be very limited now, unfortunately. So I am exploring other options.

YazFi YazFi - enhanced AsusWRT-Merlin Guest WiFi inc. SSID <-> VPN Client

Now, if you don't use VLANs then whatever you are using (firewall? iptables command?) allows for creating isolated subnets. I can probably write a script that uses the same commands you issue when creating the guest networks in order to create isolated subnets by tenant

connmon connmon - Internet connection monitoring

Thanks, you directed me to an alternative solution! ChkWAN is set up and it runs via Cron, let's hope it does the job.

connmon connmon - Internet connection monitoring

Just installed and trying it now... looking good as all things Yazfi! Silly question, can I use Connmon to trigger a reboot (only once not to loop....) if the connection is down for a certain period of time?

Hi there Jsan, I am trying to do a similar configuration. Have you got anything going? Did you get a copy of this legendary script?

YazFi YazFi - enhanced AsusWRT-Merlin Guest WiFi inc. SSID <-> VPN Client

Thanks Jack, I thought it did. I am trying to get some VLANs configured myself already using a trunk port on the router for each. There's some beta script by Martineau that creates Vlans. I am trying to get a hold of it. In any case Yazfi is very cool!

Help setting up VLAN on ASUS RT-AC68U

@Martineau One more request for your script. Have an AC68U I think it works for it just fine.... Firmware Version:384.16 Thanks in advance. Also great job on the Unbound manager.

YazFi YazFi - enhanced AsusWRT-Merlin Guest WiFi inc. SSID <-> VPN Client

Hi there! Love Yazfi, specially the ability to route directly to a VPN! Now I am trying a more ambitious project based on Yazfi. I have multiple access points distributed through a building. Three different physical A/P (running FreshTomato) connect to the main router (running Merlin / Yazfi)...

Unbound - Authoritative Recursive Caching DNS Server

Cool! I left IBM 16 years ago though.... don't recognize the name! Thanks for your comments! Yes, adjusting QOS is a helpful idea. Take care and stay safe R.!

Unbound - Authoritative Recursive Caching DNS Server

Thanks Reginaldo, I thought you might be from Brazil now I am sure! I had an IBM colleague from Brazil with the same first name, you made me remember him... I live in Bariloche... (or "Brasiloche" as we call it during the winter season ;)). My connection is a nominal 6 Mbps but in reality with...

Unbound - Authoritative Recursive Caching DNS Server

Hello! I am a noob regarding Unbound/DNS and I am curious as if using it would provide a benefit in terms of performance. I live in Patagonia, very far "down" in South America. This is the bottom of the world... specially in terms of internet service. Getting a few Mbps is a miracle here and I...

Skynet Skynet - Router Firewall & Security Enhancements

Thanks! Yes, it is the bootloader or BIOS if you fancy. I did update my CFE long ago, hence the question. But it seems 1.02 or close is OK for this router from L&LD's comment. If there's something better I would like to know.

    Order of installing popular scripts

Very useful post. Of course you don't need to install all scripts (why would you install stuff you don't need) and the formatting of the USB drive may seem overkill but I experienced the trouble described.... somehow Entware found an old directory I had and it was an issue. A clean install or at...

Skynet Skynet - Router Firewall & Security Enhancements

I had the same issue on my AC68U (384.16 beta 2 - bl_version=1.0.2.1). Pirx73, your bypass (uninstall, reboot a few times) worked for me too!!! Thanks for posting it! Is there any issue with CFE 1.0.2.1? Or is there a required CFE level for this, @L&LD ? Thanks!

[Fork] Asuswrt-Merlin 374.43 LTS releases (Archive)

Hi guys! I am getting a corrupted page layout (see below) when going to the wireless section. I've just installed John's fork on my old faithful Asus RT-N16. I did reset to factory after installing from DD-WRT Mini. Not only that I did also an NVRAM clear with the WPS button and it worked (at...

Ethernet, full copper vs copper clad aluminium

Thanks for posting your comments. I have a question for you, I am considering copper clad Cat5e cable for a run of about 70-100 meters (around 230-330 feet). It would be a single cable connecting a router to a bridge. The bridge needs a small amount of power, 0.5 amp at 12 volt (from specs). I...
