Release ASUS ZenWiFi XT8 Firmware version 3.0.0.4.386.46061 (2022/01/14)

those are probably not actual ethernet disconnections but rather the name of the wifi band interface, eth* is a bit misleading. check the networkmap or ai mesh to see which device the mac address belongs to if you've named them, otherwise you'll have to check your devices for their mac...

Release ASUS ZenWiFi XT8 Firmware version 3.0.0.4.386.46061 (2022/01/14)

It might be a good idea if those people having issues send feedback to Asus via the router (administration -> feedback) before downgrading. I'm currently giving 46061 a go, I'm in AP mode with wireless backhaul and haven't noticed any issues.. we'll see.. i also have some settings disabled on...

Release Asus ZenWiFi XT8 - New Firmware: 3.0.0.4.386_45934

try disabling agile multiband on the backhaul. in fact I have it disabled on all bands, i have issues with an ipad pinned to a node with the agile option enabled. the other day I was messing about and enabled it and had an issue with the backhaul connection. dunno, maybe it'll help.

XT8 - mesh - hidden network mirroring the wireless backhaul connections?

i'm giving up trying to figure this out and chalking it up to asus router weirdness as it doesn't really seem to be affecting anything. i'm not gonna test this assumption but maybe by activating smart connect these phantom networks would go away? i'm not using smart connect, i've assigned 3...

XT8 - mesh - hidden network mirroring the wireless backhaul connections?

I hid the network.. just to see if something would change.. well instead of one hidden and one named, i have two hidden per node :) ... so nothing really changed. ah well.

XT8 - mesh - hidden network mirroring the wireless backhaul connections?

2d, 28 and ae, a8 . By DBH do you mean dedicated backhaul? If so I agree that each router should only have a since dedicated backhaul network. what do you mean by 'defined as dedicated'? No clients connect to the 5GHz-2 band. I don't think I've ever seen such an option? btw, i'm running in AP...

XT8 - mesh - hidden network mirroring the wireless backhaul connections?

i'm not adding clients or guest networks to the backhaul. it should be irrelevant if it's 'hidden' or not tbh. the fact is that according to the wifi analyser on android shows two networks per node. i finally figured out how to take a screenshot with wifi analyser. this should give a better...

XT8 - mesh - hidden network mirroring the wireless backhaul connections?

ah? what confuses me is why would there be 2 networks per node? one hidden and one named with the SSID defined in the 5GHz-2 configuration? That doesn't make any sense to me? I would expect it to use the named wireless network only as the backhaul, no?

XT8 - mesh - hidden network mirroring the wireless backhaul connections?

yes, the guest network was duplicated across both devices. mmm yeah, it might be some internal networking thing for the wireless backhaul.. no idea

XT8 - mesh - hidden network mirroring the wireless backhaul connections?

hmmm, that sounds odd to me.. I tested that theory by enabling the guest networks on 5GHz-2 one by one and the hidden networks still remained.

XT8 - mesh - hidden network mirroring the wireless backhaul connections?

Hi guys, Not quite sure how to phrase this, I have an XT8 mesh (1 main and one node) with wireless backhaul. In wifi analyser (android) it shows for each 5Ghz-2 SSID on the nodes there's a hidden AP with a slightly different mac address (last two characters are different) shadowing, maybe...

Release Asus ZenWiFi XT8 - New Firmware: 3.0.0.4.386_45898

I take it back.. some weird connectivity issues with devices connected to the node. I can't be bothered trying to figure it out. downgrading to 42095 again.

    XT8 firmware 45879

when you do a check for firmware in the router and click on the new version (without installing it of course) this shows up, oddly though i don't see anything on the support pages about this newer version. and no, i haven't tried it. Firmware version 3.0.0.4.386_45879 - Release Note - Bug...

    XT8 constant disconnects

oh? hehe ok, welcome.i hope it's still working ok. the xt8 isn't perfect it but in my limited experience, nothing really is... but at least with asus routers one can mess about with settings...

    XT8 constant disconnects

umm, no offense, your 'new' thread is unreadable.

    XT8 constant disconnects

If you haven't already I'd suggest downgrading to the 42095 firmware and also looking at the system logs to see if anything specific is going on.
