    Router control via application (WAN)

If you don't want to allow access from WAN, you can create a VPN server on your router. Connect to VPN from the phone. And you can use the application.

Reserved IP address on Guest network

And why would you need a reservation for Guest? It's designed for outbound traffic, not really for LAN internal traffic.

    Printing over VPN

I did tried to print using wifi printer at home using VPN. And it works. Printer is not accessible otherwise. I can't see any reason why it won't work on a printer connected to the router. Just try it.

    Scheduled Reboot on Aimesh Node?

I have a weekly reboot of my GT-AC5300 that's the router. And the node, an AX88U also reboots at the same time. Both stock firmware. At wee hours of the night, nobody cares that router and node(s) are rebooting for 2 minutes. Same reboot can be daily - I know I was using that few years back...

how to -Ethernet- Mac address whitelist asus built in firmware

Actually in the past I found Screen Time for Android absolutely good. When Google launched Family link - I switched to it and it's much better. Kid can't get privileged access and that closes must of nasty stuff some applications allow. It's not unbeatable because it's tedious to blacklist...

    Release ASUS Rapture GT-AC5300 - New Firmware Release Version 3.0.0.4.386.48377 - March 30th, 2022

Mine does the same. I have to say I never used that view until I saw your post. So I have no clue whatsoever since what version that's not working. You should open a ticket to Asus if that's important for you to work. It does look like a bug. When I'm interested I'm using traffic monitor and...

    Problem with Wifi and AiMesh

I'm not saying Asus' path is good or bad. I was more than happy with them creating the concept of wired backhaul. But it eludes me what was the reason to follow 2nd 5GHz radio on the only 5GHz radio of a node. My logic would say they should follow 1st 5GHz radio settings. Same logic you're...

    Problem with Wifi and AiMesh

5GHz on a dual band is following settings of the 2nd 5GHz radio of a tri-band for a couple of years now. All the way since Asus introduced the wired backhaul concept. I don't know why they made this decision and I never open a ticket to ask. It doesn't make sense, but... And yes, if you disable...

ASUS Republic of Games RAPTURE GT-AC5300

@ForkWNY I'm wondering so I have to ask: what is the reason you're connecting to Web GUI? What I mean with the question: if connectivity is fine, if OpenVPN is working, I have no reason to connect to GUI. In my case logs are send to a syslog server and I have a small script to go trough every...

    GT-AC5300 Issues

Good old Comcast! I would guess you're getting plenty of "your isp dhcp does not function properly" in GT logs. What I would do: - try to get logs, directly from Asus web GUI or by sending it to a syslog server - try to get logs from XB7 (no idea if it's possible) - try to change "DHCP query...

    GT-AC5300 Issues

You may want to share logs just before the event. Having a syslog server for the router to send the logs may help. A power cycle may not preserve all relevant logs (I haven't check that in several years, I don't know if newer firmware preserve logs over a power cycle). I also have a GT-AC5300 as...

    ipv6

"Asus and every other networking vendor pv6 support should be far better" may be an even more positive message. I personally have a love/hate relationship with IPv6. Love the concept, but hate concepts that came to "help" with global deployents! Mostly I hate NAT624, DSLite, CGN and whatever...

Took them a while but it's good to see a new firmware for GT-AC5300

Bugs: AC68U sends beacons on channels 149 and 165 (Firmware version: 3.0.0.4.386.46065)

Very strange! Source mac is the same one. Yet, both beacons are seen on different channels and, even weird, with massively different signal strength and noise level. I don't use anymore my RT-AC68U so I can't dump beacons sent by 3.0.0.4.386.46065. I would send the pcap in a ticket to Asus. I...

Bugs: AC68U sends beacons on channels 149 and 165 (Firmware version: 3.0.0.4.386.46065)

Out of curiosity: what method do you use to "listen" for beacons on 165?

AiMesh - 5ghz-2 is now dedicated backhaul after recent firmware? (wired backhaul)

When you say "unavailable channel can be hidden" you mean backhaul SSID? If so, it used to be a hidden SSID. At least it used to be a hidden SSID. https://www.asus.com/us/support/FAQ/1039646/ says it should be a hidden SSID that you can connect to. If you setup a key that you know. Try to click...

ASUS Republic of Games RAPTURE GT-AC5300

Yeah, weekly reboot is a must for me as well since I bought this model 4 years ago. I did tried without reloading it, but sooner than later it will start misbehaving. It may be 10 day, 2w or even longer. But it will slow down eventually. I have a weekly reload during the night and I forgot about...

Switches confirm to work with AiMesh

Hi, I tried asking Asus directly, but no answer so far. I'm using Ethernet Backhaul Mode and I intend to keep using it as it allows using all radios. (In Europe having the 2nd 5GHz radio on DFS channels allows higher power; I'm keeping one 5GHz radio on U-NII-2A so every client will be able to...

    Dual WAN port forwarding possible?

What you're looking for is technically possible. But not in home-routers price league. Router "knows" the interface the inbound request came from, it can do the destination NAT properly and return the traffic on the same interface, doing source NAT properly. But it makes little sense as a...
