Restrict users view to FTP assigned folder rights

Just wondering if it's been this way all along or something changed with the latest firmware. I only just started using FTP on the router itself and don't want to go backwards with firmware if the issue has been there all along...thanks for any responses.

Restrict users view to FTP assigned folder rights

Well i tried fiddling with samba shares as well just in case but nothing changes. All ftp folders are visible when the user logs in however he can only access the one assigned folder. See screen shots below illustrating my points..oh well I'll live with it if I have to but would love to know why.

Restrict users view to FTP assigned folder rights

No anonymous login allowed on the ftp server....it's weird because every folder is set to no except for one folder for 1 user. I'll try disabling guest login allowed on samba shares to see if it changes anything on the ftp side...

Restrict users view to FTP assigned folder rights

I'm using the latest Merlin firmware. I've setup the routers builtin FTP server on my AC66u and everything works correctly with respect to user access to folders. However, I was wondering if there's a way where based upon login the user gets taken to their home/assigned folders directly and thus...

PLEASE HELP! need advice on how to unwedge a RT-AC66U

Reset button does a similar thing except with the WPS button held down during power up you get that NVRAM clear option which gets you out of a lot of tight jams :)

PLEASE HELP! need advice on how to unwedge a RT-AC66U

Power on while holding the WPS button for 10 seconds...then open up your browser to the ip of the device based on the dhcp address given...click clear nvram button and reboot...sb ok now. Happened to me as well early on...might want to reflash firmware after all this and factory reset

    Setting up Transmission through Entware

How did you format the drive? Did you use a linux system such as Ubuntu to do the format as ext3? If not you need to do that as I experienced not exact but similar silly issues when I used windows tools to do the job.

    Transmission questions

    1. Read this if you ever want to make it work outside of your home ensuring you have DDNS working correctly first. http://forums.smallnetbuilder.com/showthread.php?t=11368 2. Get a new ISP :)

JFFS partition problems, Entware won't install

Launch a Linux live cd like Ubuntu from your pc and format USB drive as ext 3 only....once this is done all will work well...reboot the router with drive attached....do not use windows third party tools to format as it won't work right. Good luck
