Beta Asuswrt-Merlin 3004.388.4 beta is now available

Running fine on my AX86U router, though I haven't been able to load any newer firmware beyond FW_RT_AX86U_300438822525 on my AIMesh node as connected devices continually disconnect and reconnect and tend to stay on 2.4GHz rather than 5GHz. With the AIMesh node on 22525, client connect and...

Release Asuswrt-Merlin 388.1 is now available for all supported Wifi 6 models

AX86U as the main router running 388.1 and AX86U AiMesh node running stock. I am hard-wired between the 2 about 200' apart on opposite ends of a ranch style house.

Release Asuswrt-Merlin 388.1 is now available for all supported Wifi 6 models

Quick update to report that after a full 7 days, manually setting the channels has fully resolved any stability issues that I was having. I use SmartConnect to keep my 2.4GHz and 5GHz SSID the same and having the ability to go about the house letting devices connect between routers as needed...

Release Asuswrt-Merlin 388.1 is now available for all supported Wifi 6 models

That did the trick; I made the adjustments for wl, wl0, and wl1 to odfm, restarted wireless and show only g/n/ac/ax as supported now. Thanks for the suggestion. For those that don't have the exact commands, I used the following: nvram show | grep wl_rateset nvram set wl_rateset=odfm nvram set...

Release Asuswrt-Merlin 388.1 is now available for all supported Wifi 6 models

Thanks for confirming what I have seen as well. I saw the same as you with something changing 5GHz back to Auto on two separate occasions with reboot, though in checking this morning, it happened again, switching control channel to 160 even though configured as 100 in the settings. The router...

Release Asuswrt-Merlin 388.1 is now available for all supported Wifi 6 models

I was originally having issues with 388.1 with clients disconnecting or remaining connected, though showing no internet access (repeatable on Samsung phones commonly). This issue persisted for some devices even after reverting back to 386.7_2, though was limited in impact to Samsung phones and...

Release Asuswrt-Merlin 388.1 is now available for all supported Wifi 6 models

One additional observation on the subject (if not related to 388.1 specifically, I can move to a separate thread): AiMesh nodes are not following the disable 11b setting. As there is no way to directly modify, unless possible via SSH, I see 11b as available from the AiMesh node, though not the...

Release Asuswrt-Merlin 388.1 is now available for all supported Wifi 6 models

Yes, while correct, when enabling Smart Connect, you no longer switch between 2.4GHz and 5GHz on the General tab and only adjust on the Professional tab. The setting should show on the General tab regardless of selection in Professional since the option to switch between them is no longer...

Release Asuswrt-Merlin 388.1 is now available for all supported Wifi 6 models

Not sure if this has been reported, though I found a glitch that I was hoping someone could reproduce in 388.1. I was configuring channels for 2.4 & 5GHz bands and setting control channels. I also wanted to disable support for 11b while at it. This was initially possible with Smart Connect...

Release Asuswrt-Merlin 388.1 is now available for all supported Wifi 6 models

I was running 386.7_2 stably with ~3 months of uptime and no issue with client disconnects. Decided to try the 388.1 build beginning with beta 2, this is with a simple network consisting of Verizon FIOS (300/300) connected via Ethernet directly to my main AX86U with a 2.5Gbps hardwired AX86U...

Beta Asuswrt-Merlin 388.1 Beta is available for select models

Loaded on my primary AX86 and AiMesh AX86 with no issue, coming from 386.7_2. Only item worth noting is the AiMesh reporting not connected, even though functioning, using the 2.5Gbps wired connection.

Beta Asuswrt-Merlin 388.1 Beta is available for select models

I do recall a change being made in recent builds to not purge RAM in the same way that several older builds were doing so. RAM usage is not a bad thing as it is maintaining items in memory as required and can overwrite as necessary. This change does mean that usage will remain higher than in...

    [ 386.4 alpha Build(s) ] Testing available build(s)

Eric, you pulled your magic with this alpha release. Not sure what would have changed use so much, however with my AX86U, I was at around 80-90% memory consumption on prior alpha, though the new build I am sitting at just over 50% with everything running and no issues to report. Thank you for...

Beta Asuswrt-Merlin 386.3 beta is now available

First boot post upgrade, I needed to change the VPN Client > Redirect Internet traffic through tunnel setting to VPN Director (policy rules) as it was initially set to No. Once this adjustment was made, everything worked fine and the VPN Director settings appear to be functioning as expected.

Unbound unbound_manager (Manager/Installer utility for unbound - Recursive DNS Server) - General questions / discussion thread 2

Use of cadence as in frequency of updates, though you already answered that it is decoupled from unbound_manager and based on Entware.

Unbound unbound_manager (Manager/Installer utility for unbound - Recursive DNS Server) - General questions / discussion thread 2

After updating to the latest Merlin beta and ensuring all addons are updated, I checked Unbound status and notice that it's still on 1.12, though 1.13 was released at the beginning of December: https://nlnetlabs.nl/projects/unbound/download/#unbound-1-13-0 What is the normal cadence for...

Beta Asuswrt-Merlin 386.1 Beta is now available

Having a single guest network configured with YaziFi for enhanced configurations (AP isolation config and separate network ranges); is it recommended to remove and leave off or leave as is for the upgrade? I have read through the thread and it seems like one issue that people indicate is...

Unbound unbound_manager (Manager/Installer utility for unbound - Recursive DNS Server)

I see the same with 3.19 and 3.20. Is anyone able to see Rootcanary working as before or is this non-functional for everyone? Performing: "dig com. SOA +dnssec" does show the AD flag indicating dnssec is functioning: ; <<>> DiG 9.16.6 <<>> txt com. ;; global options: +cmd ;; Got answer...

Release Asuswrt-Merlin 384.19 is now available

Yes, I'm running amtm with Unbound (including ad-blocker), Skynet, spdmerlin, conmon, and cake-qos. I don't have Advanced QoS or the Trend required protections as I don't want to opt in for relaxed privacy and found that it further taxed the router more than I was comfortable with.

Release Asuswrt-Merlin 384.19 is now available

Just wanted to give a quick thumbs up having been rock solid on 384.19 on my RT-AC86U (router mode) and RT-AC68P (AI-Mesh) for 24 days without a hiccup. Following getting things on this build, it's been completely stable.
