Dual wan anyone get it working with Reliability ?

No we are just talking dual wan here. Two isp with a primary and a secondary that the router is suppose to fall over to when the primary internet fails. No load balancing just fall over and fall back . https://www.asus.com/support/FAQ/1011718 Should be a simple setup but asus seems to be very...

Dual wan anyone get it working with Reliability ?

Have a primary cable and a dsl backup. The AC86U is set to fall-over to the dsl if the cable goes down unfortunately this tends not to work worth a damn. If the cable goes down the router see this but never falls-over to the dsl. If the ethernet unplugged from the cable modem it see this and...

[Release] Asuswrt-Merlin 384.13 is now available

Shouldn't be as the smart devices are still in the same state as before so it should behave again. Also the cable doesn't have a static ip so its changed before. Have to do more testing later.

[Release] Asuswrt-Merlin 384.13 is now available

Nope i didn't see anything either but the router becomes unreachable except through ssh or doing a hard reboot. Did notice something quite odd though. There a load of net_ratelimit: callbacks suppressed showing in the log and it appears the smart devices causing them (plugs and the like) But...

[Release] Asuswrt-Merlin 384.13 is now available

Its appears there may be a bug which causes the router to stop communicating with some hardware unless a hard reboot done. It would stop communicating with one computer ,tablet and harmony hub but the other devices remain connected.

[Release] Asuswrt-Merlin 384.13 is now available

Self entitled much? :( Your receiving something for free and some how think you have a right to complain about it? As Eric already stated XVortex has been breaking licenses and ignoring GPL Although you may not have anything to complain as from what i hear XVortex is in a lot of trouble...

Asus ever going to fix dual wan?

People stopped answering you because you weren't listening. At any point you wanted the answers handed to on a plate instead of doing a simple search. Doing the homework before making a statement tends to be a very good idea or you look quite foolish. Then to make it worse you typed many of my...

[Beta] Asuswrt-Merlin 384.13 Beta is now available

Did occur to me but not seeing any strange traffic beyond the norm. It would seem on further investigation that i am indeed being attacked. Got logon attempts from China, Germany, United Kingdom and Vietnam . Seems to have started since a ip change over from our provider which rang a dinner...

[Beta] Asuswrt-Merlin 384.13 Beta is now available

Interesting it seems there something of a issue going on. AC86U beta 1 is seeing quite a bit of this going on. Had multiple devices from my tv to my harmony hub and even my phone just flat out loose all connection. Jul 29 18:41:57 dnsmasq-dhcp[17358]: Error sending DHCP packet to...

    [Experimental] Asuswrt-Merlin 384.13 test - AiMesh/DNSSEC through OpenSSL

Its know. If the node goes flaky or losses connection it goes nuts and messes with the primary router. Most noticeable if you happen to need to reboot the primary router for some reason. Annoying bug but one that doesn't happen often and Asus is aware of the issues so it should be fixed soon.

    [Experimental] Asuswrt-Merlin 384.13 test - AiMesh/DNSSEC through OpenSSL

Now this is odd the router flat out refused to assign ip's to devices both wireless and wired tell i restarted the router. AC86U alpha 2

    [Experimental] Asuswrt-Merlin 384.13 test - AiMesh/DNSSEC through OpenSSL

Seeing no major issues on the AC86U :)

    [Experimental] Asuswrt-Merlin 384.13 test - AiMesh/DNSSEC through OpenSSL

In all likelihood its needs to be brought near the primary router and completely reset. Then during setup you select the aimesh option which should allow it to connect to wireless. Noticed aimesh is quite picky that way but once done it should do as its suppose to.

    [Experimental] Asuswrt-Merlin 384.13 test - AiMesh/DNSSEC through OpenSSL

Interesting it seems that after a period of time i loose access to the web UI although the router is performing fine otherwise. A reboot restore access to the AC86U. One other thing of note is access to shared drives through the router is restored in this alpha compared to it not working in...

    [Experimental] Asuswrt-Merlin 384.13 test - AiMesh/DNSSEC through OpenSSL

Downgraded my AC68U node to previous firmware without issue. Did the firmware check on my primary AC86U and the firmware upgrade button showed (its placement a little wrong as its blending into the check button somewhat). Upgrade proceeded as normal and the AC68U node upgraded correctly...
