    [Release 382] Asuswrt-Merlin 382.1 is now available

Likely in a couple of weeks since this is more changing things over rather then finding out whats been done and what needs to change. Most of the hard stuff was done when he did it for the 88 and newer models so the major groundwork is already in place. But as always there no set date and its...

    [Release 382] Asuswrt-Merlin 382.1 is now available

So true!!!! We get this for free and he doing this in his spare time for us so bugging him is not cool although i am sure you meant no harm. The upside is because of the development on the newer models the change over wont take nearly as long as it did because he already knows what needs to be...

    [Release 382] Asuswrt-Merlin 382.1 is now available

Its appears that's not the case mine show up perfectly fine. Have you tried searching for them with the home app after rebooting them. Sometimes they can get stuck in a cycle of thinking they are connected when they are not after a wireless loss.

[Beta] Asuswrt-Merlin 382.1 Beta is available

He can only make the firmware when he get the sources for them and it only just released yesterday . He great at what he does but can't work from nothing.

[Beta] Asuswrt-Merlin 382.1 Beta is available

Looks like most of the routers have been changed over to the 382 build path. This finally included the AC68U. Bandwidth limiting on guest networks certainly going to come in handy with the restaurant. :)

    Asuswrt-Merlin - Project update

I rather suspected the 66 models may get dropped they are a little long in the tooth in hardware terms if still quite nice routers. But support shall still be there thanks to john anyway if not quite the same features. I have one and i only use it as a repeater which is does perfectly...

[Beta] Asuswrt-Merlin 382.1 Beta is available

Not happy that they haven't ported it to the other routers yet :( But the upside i guess is if they eventually do then the 68u will have a stable version quickly thanks to all this testing :)

Was Guest bandwidth limiting every turned on?

I should have caught that but i am on turkey overload lol.

Was Guest bandwidth limiting every turned on?

So in the codebase but not in the ui yet bummer.

Was Guest bandwidth limiting every turned on?

Now we know asus have it in the code but back in 2016 it hadn't yet been added to the ui. Has asus abandon this or is it still in the works? We got a restaurant going in and want to offer free wifi during business hours but limit its speed so they aren't sucking up all the bandwidth.

Asus 56u on reset whats does the wifi password default to?

Not on reset the wireless is secured. I am somewhat suprised people are confusing a wireless password for the router logon and password though lol. Tom she going to get a usb Ethernet adapter so it wont be a issues for long.

Asus 56u on reset whats does the wifi password default to?

No Ethernet in her laptop so the only present way to connect to the router is through the wireless. Except after a hard manual reset its anyone's guess what the wireless password is. I know it defaults to something but for the life of me i can't remember what it is.

Asus 56u on reset whats does the wifi password default to?

Trying to help a friends daughter hookup to the router adter its been defaulted but she got a laptop with no Ethernet port. What would the wireless password default to on these things whats the router been reset?

[Release] Asuswrt-Merlin 380.65 is now available

Ac68u Updated the smart 505n firmware to 2.5.0.11 to catchup with Merlin's amazing firmware. Seems the firmware has gotten faster then the response from some dsl modems which could be a issue for some. In my case a firmware update from my provider caught the modem up to the router so this is...

[Release] Asuswrt-Merlin 380.65 is now available

Something not right with this build where pppoe connections are concerned. Was hoping it was just a flash issues that caused problems but it doesn't renew the connection correctly at times unlike previous builds. Ac 68u. Hmmmm seems teksavvy may have fixed things on there end with the PPPoE...

[Release] Asuswrt-Merlin 380.65 is now available

Could be the smart 505 are fantastically stable modems but they certainly not the fastest when it comes to grabbing the connection. Seems to otherwise now be going along without a hitch. Maybe a minor note to unplug ppoe related connections should be added to avoid this happening. Impressive...

[Release] Asuswrt-Merlin 380.65 is now available

Thanks it is rather odd though and almost appears like the first flash isn't quite complete and a second is required to finish the job.

[Release] Asuswrt-Merlin 380.65 is now available

Give me a moment need to re-flash it again. Now this is weird. First update required a manual reboot and ppoe failed to word saying bad password/username. Went back to 64 build and it worked fine then re-flashed 65 to get the syslog and it didn't ask for a manual reboot plus ppoe worked fine.

[Release] Asuswrt-Merlin 380.65 is now available

Ac68u Unfortunately this build totally blocks ppoe connections that worked fine in the previous build. syslog says it failed due to some errors which doesn't give much to go on.

[Beta] Asuswrt-Merlin 380.65 Beta is now available

Ac68u Beta 4 certainly seems to be playing nice with everything now.
