    I just updated an AC56U to this firmware. Everything's running at default right now. Are there any settings I need to tweak or change for performance? I remember a few versions back some people were sharing their settings which I found useful since some of settings are very 'technical.'

    I just want to report that I've gone the Powerline option. Two Sineoji 600mbps devices, one connected to the modem on level 1, another connected to an RT-AC65U on level 2. Everything seems consistent and I'm able to connect on Level 3. I'm actually kinda impressed with the Sineoji devices...

    Great, that's good to know. I don't fiddle with those, run the router and your firmware as-is, so I was wary of getting a newer router with features and specs I'd never use.

    Got it, thank you for your help! BTW do you think the RT-N66U with your custom firmware will suffice for a 100Mbps cable connection? It's the setup I'm most familiar with since I use it myself. Or would you recommend getting their newer routers like the AC68?

    Thank you, I'm beginning to realize I might have to explore the powerline option too. I balk at the powerline option because I always thought I'd get low speeds on them.

    I understand it's generally safer to do it over ethernet but for convenience's sake just had to ask—seems like there's been some successes. Thanks, will give it a shot :)

    Is it safe to flash over wi-fi instead of an ethernet connection? I use a Macbook Air at home. In the past I used the office laptop with an ethernet connection to the router to flash.
