    whats the CON for mixing AC and AX? the purpose of remoted AC88U is just for the wired connection of DVR. my other devices would still on the AX router.

    My AC88U has Merlin 380.57, and I have to restart my router every other week, or the router becomes no response.

    OpenVPN performance

    Would you share your PIA setup? I have PIA on my Merlin AC88U, and my cable is 150/10. However, my openVPN performance is capped at 30Mbps. When I use PIA software, I have no problem to hit 170Mbps

    I had 2 problems ( I reset the router after flash the new FW, AC88U). 1. both 2.4G and 5G radios were disabled by themselves, and I have no clue. 2. Router stalled twice

    Asus AC5300 or AC88

    I just did the test, hmm, both AC88 and AC68 openVPN got same connection speed via PIA and TorGuard, so no performance gain through router. With the windows VPN software, connection was around 120Mbps.

    I agree, get rid of WTfast in Merlin build. I think its useless, and I would rather use VPN.

    except the extra 5G channel, is there other difference between RT88U and 5300? because the $100 difference is huge.

    OpenVPN performance

    I have the same issue. without OpenVPN client on, my speed test is 170Mbps, but the speed drops to 30Mbps when I use OpenVPN. In addition, I can get the full speed if I use VPN client software on my PC, so I guess the AC68R CPU can not handle too many tasks.

    when you login to merlin, left column, find "Traffic Analyzer", then click it. then click Statistic. turn off this function. I am using AC-68, and I assume we should have same functions on Merlin.

    I follow the torguard ASUS Merlin setup guide, and I have Traffic Analyzer - Statistic "OFF". speed test is 20Mb/s with no loss. when I turn on the Traffic Analyzer - Statistic, my speed drops to 8-9 Mb/s

    Can I run repeater mode (not WDS) with repeater's LAN isolated from host's LAN?

    I have 2 AC68, and I couldn't connect 2 AC68 wirelessly. I install DDWRT on one of my AC68 and right now I have no issue to connect 2 router. my main AC68 is running OpenVPN, and I am trying to use PPTP connection on my DDWRT AC68 connecting to the main AC68 router.

    Hi, I am wondering if it is possible to run L2TP and OpenVPN connection at the same time on Merlin build? like all computers go through OpenVPN, and 2 media box connect to L2TP?

    Could anyone check the Traffic Monitor function works properly? I got unrealistic speed on my AC-68R, and I have tried clear nvram and it doesn't work.
