tasmota devices failing to connect back - Asus WRT

Unfortunately I can not comment on this anymore as I have switched to a Linksys router, thanks to my new isp, which came with 2 mesh units. What I can say is, when I locked in the IP address router side and device side, the problem went away, I can confirm my end that they lasted more than...

tasmota devices failing to connect back - Asus WRT

Right well after going to the console with in these tasmota devices I entered "ipaddress1 192.168.50.X" X being the IP address, that worked then I set the IP address using the Asus WRT, I still believe renaming did something, since I've done all this it's been rock solid, case closed - thank you...

tasmota devices failing to connect back - Asus WRT

After bounding them to the main router some have disconnected from the network completely and others are on the network but unaccessible, so I guess I'm now going to need to undo that, go in to each one, and specify an IP address to each ones web interface along with coming back to the router...

tasmota devices failing to connect back - Asus WRT

I didn't change anything yet and they appear to be coming on and offline, but definitely after renaming the behaviour has changed They use to disconnect then come back after 6 hours before the rename After the rename they now disconnect and come back with in a few minutes? I guess as a...

tasmota devices failing to connect back - Asus WRT

Ok the problem is back, so I guess renaming was a temporary fix, I'll now assign dedicated IP addresses and see if that works

tasmota devices failing to connect back - Asus WRT

I found this kind of insulting 😅 I know that the guest network works off a different DHCP than the main DHCP, so devices can't talk to each other 👍🏻 Everything is still working fine since the rename, I 100% changed nothing else but the names of the devices using the mobile user interface (app)...

tasmota devices failing to connect back - Asus WRT

GT-AX11000 3.0.0.4.388_23285 as the main RT-AC86U 3.0.0.4.386_51915 as a node Not connecting to a guest network, as mentioned before they are connecting to the 2.4GHz WiFi of mainly the GT-AX11000, Password method is Wpa2-personal, as the issue has gone away after renaming I don't feel a need...

tasmota devices failing to connect back - Asus WRT

Something to do with renaming the devices has fixed the issue, explain that!

tasmota devices failing to connect back - Asus WRT

You're assumption is that it hasn't affected anyone else, just because no one has complained about it doesn't mean it hasn't effected anyone else, those that have been effected may not know about ip addresses or Mac addresses, You may manage all you're ip addresses but not all of us wish to go...

tasmota devices failing to connect back - Asus WRT

I'm using aimesh but none of the devices that are on the nodes are having problems, it's best just to wait and see if the problem reappears, if it doesn't then the renaming trick 100% is the fix, and Asus need to limit it to renaming one device of the same make... Or add numbers after each...

tasmota devices failing to connect back - Asus WRT

If the issue does not appear again, after today's fix, then this is a bug in Asus's firmware, I will get back to you at a later stage, I'd expect the problem to come back in the next 48 hours if it isn't resolved and I will have a look at the logs @bennor

tasmota devices failing to connect back - Asus WRT

You're response to the behaviour I have experience today does not represent/ aline with reality, after I renamed the devices all of them came back online, like, literally after the rename everything was back working normally and hasn't went offline again since which, in my personal opinion, is...

tasmota devices failing to connect back - Asus WRT

I filled out the forum on the routers app, yes, however just in case that isn't enough or other people encounter the issue, then it's good to also just have a post like this up 👍🏻

tasmota devices failing to connect back - Asus WRT

Firmware version : 3.0.0.4.388 Hardware : GT-AX11000 Devices that were named "tasmota-XXXXXX" where "X" is, is a random line of unique numbers to the hardware, get automatically renamed by Asus WRT as "Espressif Inc" if this happens to more than one device that was named "tasmota-XXXXXX" to...

    GT-AX11000 WiFi 6E Capable

And yes I know no one called anyone dumb but the insinuation is there and I don't appreciate it. As an adult I just thought I'd make it clear I see it and it isn't appreciated, it's very ugly

    GT-AX11000 WiFi 6E Capable

I'm a great supporter in ai mesh, it's made use of old devices and even breathes new life in to devices that didn't support it. Alot of work went in to that, likewise I'd like to see other avenue like that opened up, like adding WiFi 6E support to devices that support WiFi 6 From my...

    GT-AX11000 WiFi 6E Capable

    1) I'm asking, because no one who's has replied to this post works for Asus or helped design make this router. 2) I obviously brought this equipment not knowing WiFi 6E would come out straight after or with in a few months after this router was released. It wasn't even on the market for a year...

    GT-AX11000 WiFi 6E Capable

If they can add ai mesh to everything, devices that are and were much older than gt-ax11000 then they can also add support for 6E to devices that have the ability to support it, why not? Right? It's not my fault if some of you guys are all invested in to 6E already, you might be able to afford...
