[Fork] Asuswrt-Merlin 374.43 LTS releases (Archive)

Hi Guys, Looking to update my n66u from V37e to V38e. Normally I would just do it but I've been reading and something about GitHub code base and November last year and local repo. I have zero understanding of that, what on earth is local repo? Codebase? Do I need to worry about this? Thanks Bob.

    Hopefully simple vlan question

Hi, Thanks for the replies. Sorry it has taken this long to get back to you. I ticked the box for email notification of a reply but didn't get an email, just dropped in to check and found your posts. The reason I would like to run another address range is to service other people's nas boxes...

    Hopefully simple vlan question

Hi, I'm looking to get my first managed switch and one of the things I hope it can do is provide another network with a different address range is this possible? To be specific, I have a 192.168.1.x network at home but it would be great if I could also have a 192.168.0.x network and devices be...

    Virgin Superhub 3 connectivity issues

Thanks guys for your help. Virgin engineer visited today and said this sort of thing is a known issue with SH3. Said wait for new firmware due soon or run in double nat mode ie. have both routers active and cascade them. Don't know if you're then forced to have two Wi-Fis or if you can turn the...

    Virgin Superhub 3 connectivity issues

No I didn't ever think it was john's software. But I did think that you guys on here are more likely than anyone else to be able to give me sensible advice other then don't use your own router. When the router cannot get dhcp and I can't use the tinternet is there any way to get the SH3 to go...

    Virgin Superhub 3 connectivity issues

Sorry, that is all there was in the log for yesterday, before that was Jan 1st for some reason and nothing since. Do I need to add logging for something else to be useful next time? I think the dns is set by virgin in the dhcp and is 194.168.4.100 local? If it was 192.168.4.x then yes but...

    Virgin Superhub 3 connectivity issues

Thanks Colin, I'm trying and failing to upload last night's log from the N66u. It goes through the motions but doesn't seem to appear anywhere. How do you do this? I get a black box which lets me navigate to the log file and then displays the name in the box but there is no send button, just a...

I'll try try all of your suggestions when I'm next unable to connect as if I re-boot I'll lose my internet and wont be able to get it back. When this problem happens, my router will...

    Virgin Superhub 3 connectivity issues

OK, that sounds good. Where would I find that, is it obvious? I'm at work at the moment so can't look. Is it likely to have last night's woes in store as I'm very reluctent to reboot and kill my tinternet whislt I have it. Thanks Bob.

    Virgin Superhub 3 connectivity issues

Hi, Anyone got any advice or words of wisdom please. I'm in the UK with VirginMedia and I've been using this fork for a couple of years on my N66U. When I first started Virgin had supplied a Superhub 1 and that worked really well (in modem only mode) with the N66U, no issues. Then in March...

[Fork] Asuswrt-Merlin 374.43 LTS releases (Archive)

Ah well, my first attempt was before your edit so it was linked to asusware folder. Then I saw your edit, had a think and decided to have another link, this time called IntranetDrct (intranet direct) which links to the asusware/Intranet folder. Thanks again, not only is the problem fixed but...

[Fork] Asuswrt-Merlin 374.43 LTS releases (Archive)

Good morning John and Colin, thank you so much for your help. I only need smb access to the Intranet folder so that I can change what is on my Intranet, this folder is inside asusware on the memory stick. I don't wish to change the name of either folder for fear of breaking the Cherokee web...

[Fork] Asuswrt-Merlin 374.43 LTS releases (Archive)

Thanks John, I'll give that a go in the morning. Is there any way to share a folder a level down inside asusware? There is a folder in there called Intranet and that is what I really need smb access to. Cheers, Bob.

[Fork] Asuswrt-Merlin 374.43 LTS releases (Archive)

Hi Colin thanks for the help. That file does not contain the word veto at all and the word files only once as in enable core files = no. Am I looking at the right file because mine is dated 2011? /etc/smb.conf ? Bob.
