AiMesh shows offline in GUI, but it's actually connected

My AiMesh network is connected wirelessly. I can ping the nodes...and also devices connected to the nodes themselves. The devices are connected to the nodes via CAT5. Sent from my Motorola DynaTAC 8000X using Tapatalk

AiMesh shows offline in GUI, but it's actually connected

I have an AC88U as my main router, AC3100, and a couple of AC68U's as my AiMesh nodes. All were in the official Asus 20648 -> 20942 and now all on the 384_21045. In all versions of these firmwares, I noticed that the AC88U AiMesh UI shows that my nodes go offline after a day or 2...and remain...

    May 23, 2018 RT-AC88U new firmware 384_20942 available

I'm coming from Asus Merlin RT-AC88U_380.65_4 firmware. I setup static DHCP and I'm able to do nslookups of the hostname and IP addresses of my internal servers. I wanted to checkout AiMesh so I upgraded to the official 384.20942 Asus firmware. I reset/initialized the settings to factory...

    [Release 382] Asuswrt-Merlin 382.1 is now available

I have an AC88U as my main router connected to cable modem. AC3100 connected to AC88U via media bridge mode and AC68U connected to AC88U via repeater mode. All are currently on 380.64. Anyone have a similar setup and upgraded the AC88U to 382.1 and everything still worked? Thanks. Sent from...

    Upgrade to RT-AC87U

I "upgraded" from an AC68U to an AC87U. What a mistake that was! My intention was to use the AC87U in repeater or media bridge mode (main router is AC88U) and put the old AC68U somewhere else. Both modes didn't work on the AC87U...I tried a few custom firmwares...nada. Finally decided to...

    Bug in Repeater-Mode of RT-AC68U running 380.66_4

This is the same setup that I have. Thank you for this! I thought it was just me. I went ahead and rolled back my AC88U, AC3100, and AC68U to 380.65_4 and all is well again.

[Release] Asuswrt-Merlin 380.66 is now available

Merlin, thanks for all the hard work on our routers. Like a few others here, I've had wifi connectivity issues with 380.66 series....tried all the way to 380.66_4. Had to roll back all my routers to 380.65_4. I have an AC88U as my main router, two AC68U's as repeaters, and AC3100 as media...

    AC3100 Repeater mode issue

I'm having the same issue with my AC3100. I have an AC88U as main router, AC3100 and AC68U as repeaters. WiFi clients connecting to AC68U acquire DHCP addresses just fine. Can't say the same for the AC3100. The AC3100 is closer to the AC88U than the AC68U. All routers are on the Merlin...

Repeater mode not working on 5Ghz band (RT-AC68U - 380.57)

If AC68U is connected to hub via CAT5 and AC68U is configured in access point mode, then AC66U should be able to repeat AC68U. Sent from my Motorola DynaTAC 8000X using Tapatalk

Repeater mode not working on 5Ghz band (RT-AC68U - 380.57)

I did a bit of experiment when I had my AC87U. I had all routers on 380.62. I couldn't get AC68U to work in repeater mode in 5Ghz when it's trying to repeat the AC87U directly. But if I setup another AC68U to repeat the AC68U that's trying to repeat the AC87U, the 2nd AC68U was able to repeat...

Repeater mode not working on 5Ghz band (RT-AC68U - 380.57)

    I finally gave up on my AC87U (sold it). I replaced it with the AC88U. My new setup is as follows: 1) AC88U w/ 380.63_2 (main router/gateway to Internet) 2) AC68U w/ 380.63_2 (media bridge mode connected to AC88U on 5Ghz) 3) AC68U w/ 380.63_2 (repeater mode connected to AC88U on 5Ghz)...

    AC68U doesn't take update 380.62_1

Try doing a full factory reset of your router first. Plug in a CAT5 cable to one of the 4 LAN ports of the router to your PC. Then perform the firmware upgrade.

    "Encourage" 5 GHz Operation

The only MAC addresses you'll need to add are the legacy hardware that you mentioned on 2.4Ghz. You don't need to put users' MAC addresses on the 2.4Ghz or 5Ghz since no MAC filter rule will be needed for users. One other idea is to change the SSID on your 2.4GHz, hide it (disable SSID...

    "Encourage" 5 GHz Operation

Use MAC address filtering on 2.4Ghz. Click on Wireless -> Wireless MAC filter. Choose 2.4Ghz band, choose Accept as MAC filter mode...then enter all the MAC addresses that you want to allow on 2.4Ghz. Your users won't be able to connect to 2.4Ghz unless their MAC address is on this list.

    Upgrade AC87U (380.58) and AC68U (378.53) to 380.62_1 (Repeater Mode)

My current setup is as follows: AC87U on 380.58 as my main router w/ DHCP wired/wireless clients AC68U on 378.53 connected to AC87U in 5Ghz repeater mode w/ DHCP wired/wireless clients I found this to be a working combination of router/firmware to allow me to use the AC87U as my main router...

Repeater mode not working on 5Ghz band (RT-AC68U - 380.57)

I tried this combo...but when wired/wireless clients connect to the AC68U, the default gateway and DNS it gives the client is the IP address of the AC68U instead of the AC87U's. I've spent so much time fiddling around this. I might just end up reselling my AC87U's and use my old AC68U's or...

Repeater mode not working on 5Ghz band (RT-AC68U - 380.57)

I noticed in your signature that you have an AC87U (380.58) as your Main Router and AC68U ((3.0.0.4.380_3831)) in Repeater-Mode on 5GHZ. Is your DHCP working when wireless and wired clients connect on the AC68U? I finally found a combination that works. AC87U (380.58) as main router & AC68U...

Repeater mode not working on 5Ghz band (RT-AC68U - 380.57)

Has anyone found a solution for this? I've got an AC87U on 380.58 as my main router, while the AC68U on stock Asus firmware 3.0.0.4_380_3831 as my repeater. Wireless clients attempting to connect to the AC68U can't get an DHCP IP address. Thanks.

[Release] Asuswrt-Merlin 380.62_1 is now available

Thank you so much!!! *** UPDATE *** Damn...another stumbling block! I tried to downgrade from 380.62_1 to 380.58. It was blocked...it said, "To comply with regulatory amendments, we have modified firmware verification rule to ensure better firmware quality. This version is not compatible with...

[Release] Asuswrt-Merlin 380.62_1 is now available

Do you have yours configured like mine? AC87U as main router...and another router connected to the AC87U via Repeater Mode? I spoke too soon. The Netgear R6300 v2 has become flaky when connected to the AC87U in Repeater Mode. I can ping for a few seconds...then it no longer responds...then I...
