Yeah i helped furry on the dgl forums set up the game fuel configuration on the 4500 back in the day. He is a good guy! Anyway. Here is my set up. Both xb1 wired directly to the asus rt-ac66r. Xbox one network settings. IP and dns settings set to automatic. Instant mode turned off. In...

UPnP - Multiple Xbox One Gaming Consoles & NAT

Yes when I used the dgl4500, I played black ops exclusively. Both in game and in the dashboard i had open nat. My son and i could play in the same lobby with no party chat issues. I had to do some configuration changes in the firewall settings for that router but the asus was pretty...

UPnP - Multiple Xbox One Gaming Consoles & NAT

From my experience with port usage the same xbox would always use port 3074 even if was turned 2nd. My other xb1 would always use some other random port and it would never change. I forget off the top of me head but i recall the same port usage every time i looked. If you do decide to use qos...

UPnP - Multiple Xbox One Gaming Consoles & NAT

I have used 2 differ routers, a d-link dgl4500 and now asus rt-ac66r. Used them for 2 360s and 2 xb1 and the only time i had nat issues is on the xb1 when i used the instant on feature. If you have that feature on , i can almost guarantee you that is the cause of your nat issues. Put both...

@john9527, Did you make any changes to the stock QoS engine on the way it works for the RT-AC66R?

[Release] Asuswrt-Merlin 380.62_1 is now available

okay. I pulled this from the QoS description on the online Asus emulator for the RT-AC66R: so this only happens when you max your bandwidth? Did you make any changes to this on your firm ware or is it the same? Thanks again and sorry for the stupid or redundant questions. Just trying to...

[Release] Asuswrt-Merlin 380.62_1 is now available

Here is his reply, did i misunderstand it? Anyway, i thought qos is another name for traffic shaping? How does qos on asus routers exactly work then? I used qos on an older d-link router and worked that way. High priority devices would have the right of way so to speak. John mentioned down...

[Release] Asuswrt-Merlin 380.62_1 is now available

Merlin, I am wanting to use QoS and trying to figure which firmware version is the most effective, (stock, yours, or John). I am on the lates John fork version on my RT-AC-66R router. John mentioned that QoS does not go in affect until my network is saturated which make sense but I am wanting...

[Fork] Asuswrt-Merlin 374.43 LTS releases (Archive)

What? Is this new? Reason i ask is because, i went from stock fw, to merlins and to yours awhile back forget which rev but never used the restoration tool. Is this now required to do for now on? If so will you know if you have to use it? I have the rt ac66r. Also thanks for the reply on QoS...

[Fork] Asuswrt-Merlin 374.43 LTS releases (Archive)

John or Merlin, I am using QOS and am wondering if I do not make a rule for a device does the router automatically set the priority to my default setting that I have selected on the QoS rules? I would rather not make a rule for every device on my network. Thanks in advance!

[Fork] Asuswrt-Merlin 374.43 LTS releases (Archive)

Yes it says disabled due to qos being on. I run ipv6, is your firm ware not optimized for ipv6 usage? Does anyone know how Merlins is with ipv6 usage? Thanks!

Can anyone tell me which firm ware is better for ipv6 and Qos the fork or Merlins? Or are they the same performance wise? Thanks in advance.

[Fork] Asuswrt-Merlin 374.43 LTS releases (Archive)

Thanks, I will definitely look at my logs next time it happens. I am planning on turning QoS for P2P gaming (XB1), I have a lot devices on my LAN too, is your FW better for QoS usage or is Merlins?
