    Asuswrt-Merlin 380.59 is now available

What wifi range? I have had trouble in past with the upper 5.8 DFS range in UK, I tried Jon's fork - it solves this problem by not having those channels nos selectable!

pixelserv pixelserv - A Better One-pixel Webserver for Adblock

I reported this before - you should see https;//doubleclick.net/servsats works - but no reason to use https for this just use the http version!

    Asuswrt-Merlin 380.59 is now available

As you see the insecure upnp protocol allows any device to set port forwards for another device, 'secure mode' is just a sensible miniupnpd enhancement when you do not have a need for this.

    Asuswrt-Merlin 380.59 is now available

Did you factory reset after upgrading and re-enter data - I recommend john's tool. It gives a popup with links to the Asus router app for Android and Apple mobile devices. I quite like the app, except the diags don't wotk for me - can't detect the cable modem.

pixelserv pixelserv - A Better One-pixel Webserver for Adblock

Here's my update log, in case it was user error ... seems to reinstall rather than upgrade? admin@RT-N66U:/tmp/home/root# opkg update Downloading http://pkg.entware.net/binaries/mipsel/Packages.gz. Updated list of available packages in /opt/var/opkg-lists/entware-ng...

RT-N66U Management UI Unusable Only On Chrome

For me on N66 with latest John fork or asuswrt-merlin 380.59 https access to non standard port works fine - AFTER using a saved certificate on router for pixelserv-tls, AND importing certificate into Windows 7 PC for use with Chrome - so you get the green padblock in title bar in Chrome...

pixelserv pixelserv - A Better One-pixel Webserver for Adblock

One word of warning - updating pixelserv-tls from Entware over-writes your custom args, need to manually edit the S80... startup file, but maybe others don't use as many as me! pixelserv-tls version: V35.HZ12.Kh compiled: May 11 2016 15:13:54 options: 192.168.66.254 -p 80 -p 81 -p 8080 -p 8081...

    Asuswrt-Merlin 380.59 is now available

I really like the feature to be able to sort the manual dhcp list. Only gripes it is not in the changelog on P1 of this thread - and nothing on the web page to encourage you to start clicking on the column headers - a hidden gem?

ASUS firmware will change the verification method

So will Asus field upgrade all users CFEs to block or add validation to tftp and CFE web interface method to update firmware, which I assume is also used by Asus recovery tools? I doubt it - but presumably new routers for US market will have to have more restrictive CFEs. Big thanks to Asus...

Feature request: Sort dhcp list with ips or names

NB there is a git proposal to add sorting of lists by any column to the web gui - its on the radar for a future release, Asus keep changing the base page! https://github.com/RMerl/asuswrt-merlin/pull/914

Geo Location with Charter and ASUS RT-N66U

NB It's not the SSID that skyhook and I'm sure Google use - its the "Wi-Fi’s MAC address and it’s location" as per skyhook link above, SSIDs too easy to change, and variable length - much easier to store MACs in database! If you use an mobile app such as "Wifi Analyzer" on Android it gives the...

pixelserv pixelserv - A Better One-pixel Webserver for Adblock

pixelserv is an addition to adblock scripts, not a replacement. It just creates a target for sites blocked by dns poisoning rather than using the client PC itsel via 127.0.0.1 or 0.0.0.0. The original intention was to provide small blank gifs which allow web pages to collapse white space that...

pixelserv pixelserv - A Better One-pixel Webserver for Adblock

That script is an ancient version of pixelserv written in bash, does it work by just ignoring the "CONNECT" method? The original perl pixelserv used a version of inetd to handle the sockets, and there was once a C version that would would emulate this - for dd-wrt folk. Not very relevant to...

Slow (capped) 5Ghz wifi on RT-N66u

What 5G channel nos are you using? With same ISP service, but now an SH3 in modem mode, I have had trouble with the higher channel Nos on the N66, I believe this is due to regulatory compliance and 'DFS'. John's fork solves this issue by using old drivers that do not have these channels...

pixelserv pixelserv - A Better One-pixel Webserver for Adblock

I guess it does get the host: line in http/1.1 header, but current http handling code doesn't even parse the info. The https ssl bit of course knows the intended site name for the secure connection establishment, but doesn't have a whitelist or know how to forward to true IP. To whitelist...

pixelserv pixelserv - A Better One-pixel Webserver for Adblock

pixelserv doesn't know about original web sites, it only gets whatever is re-directed by the adblocking method, running adblockplus in compatible browser always going to be better. Personally I use a vpn to bypass the router altogether if there's a site I need to get do but broken by adblocking.

pixelserv pixelserv - A Better One-pixel Webserver for Adblock

Pixelserv doesn't know about the "http connect" tunnel method hence the response. I guess that is a method for a real proxy server? If you ask for <pixelserv.ip>:8080/anything.gif you will get the null pixel, same for png, swf etc

    [Problem]ADSL Connection Problem with RT-AC87U

oops looks like that is a bridge only modem, so ignore my comment about dhcp - suggest you post a relevant example from the log and someone better informed about pppoe may be able to help.
