    Flint 2 (GL-MT6000) vs ASUS RT-AX88U PRO AX6000

Decided to give one a try due interest on the forums and the very acceptable price for a dual-band, 4x4 AX router. Since it has only been up for a couple hours, it is too soon to say more than it works just fine. I like how the management interface exposes lots of things to tinker with, much...

    2.5Gbit to 1Gbit

Upgrade your switch to support newer standards. Just keep your legacy 1Gb switch for the clients that don't like connecting directly to multi-gigabit devices.

News RT-AC68U End of Life Announced by Asus

If that is the only criticism of the GT-AX6000, then I call it a winner! Note that I have one and it works very well.

Beta Asus GT-AX6000 beta firmware version 9.0.0.6_102_33874 (2024/02/23)

For my use case (AP mode), the official firmware was unacceptable, so I used the initial beta release until this beta appeared. It has been problem free ever since install.

Release Asuswrt-Merlin 386.12_6 is now available for AC models

I had a slowly dying router (not RT-AC86U) that caused much frustration for many months. Trying new firmware, downgrading back to older firmware, resetting back to factory defaults, lots of testing, etc. I figured out it was bad hardware after borrowing the same model from someone, and realizing...

Beta Asus GT-AX6000 beta firmware version 9.0.0.6_102_33874 (2024/02/23)

Thanks for sharing this beta release. It addresses my issues with the official 3.0.0.6.102_21514 release.

Is it safe to have a strong Wifi router next to you? AX86U RF 1000mw/m2

Ionizing radiation (short wavelengths) like X-ray and Gamma, are what you need to worry about. Radio and microwave are long wavelength. What makes microwave radiation unique is that it is absorbed by water molecules, so you will literally "cook" from the inside out since you are 50+% water...

Honest review of Asus WRT 5.0 (3.0.0.6 Branch)

The 3.0.0.6 beta works flawlessly for me. Can't say the same for the official release. Something is not right with DNS, for the AP, which causes NTP to fail and retry every 30 seconds. Will continue to use the 3.0.0.6 beta for now.

Release ASUS GT-AX6000 Firmware version 3.0.0.6.102_21514

DNS is definitely broken while in AP mode which causes NTP to continuously fail. Previous beta firmware does not have this issue.

    ROG Rapture GT-AX6000 finally announced

For less money than I spent on the RT-AX86U, which is no longer favored by Asus, I purchased the GT-AX6000 used from Amazon. It just works, unlike the RT-AX86U which has always been rather quirky. Not sure if it is the firmware or possibly defective hardware, but the 2.4GHz radio has never been...

    Release ASUS RT-AX86 Series(RT-AX86U/RT-AX86S) Firmware version 3.0.0.4.388.22068

Pages are VERY slow to load. The menu buttons sometimes work, and then don't. Active content does NOT update. Wireless functionality is fine. If I had no need to log into the router, everything appeared to be working. However, if something needed to be done, using the web GUI is almost...

    Release ASUS RT-AX86 Series(RT-AX86U/RT-AX86S) Firmware version 3.0.0.4.388.22068

Did not take very long. The broken web GUI problem is still there. 388.22068 on RT-AX86U is not acceptable for me.

    Release ASUS RT-AX86 Series(RT-AX86U/RT-AX86S) Firmware version 3.0.0.4.388.22068

I decided to give 22068 one more try, but this time with a reset (from the GUI) after the install. So far, it seems to be fine, but 22068 has been both fine and broken right after install, so I will give it a few days and see what happens.

    Release ASUS RT-AX86 Series(RT-AX86U/RT-AX86S) Firmware version 3.0.0.4.388.22068

After installing 388.22068 again, it works this time. WTH. I only use Firefox and HTTPS is enabled. I surmised it was a javascript problem due to errors in the browser console and the fact that ALL active content was broken. Even the menu buttons behaved strangely, not working/responding to...

    Release ASUS RT-AX86 Series(RT-AX86U/RT-AX86S) Firmware version 3.0.0.4.388.22068

Tried both. Did not matter. It is a javascript issue.

    Release ASUS RT-AX86 Series(RT-AX86U/RT-AX86S) Firmware version 3.0.0.4.388.22068

That is probably related. Pages that actively update seem to be the problem. To test my sanity, I installed 388.22068 again and the problem was present immediately. No waiting required.

    Release ASUS RT-AX86 Series(RT-AX86U/RT-AX86S) Firmware version 3.0.0.4.388.22068

Both. This is a first for me. Firefox is reporting javascript errors when trying to render some pages. The status page with live updates just fails. Maybe I will try the Feedback page, if it works. Update: was able to send something via the Feedback page after some effort. Installed the...

Release Asuswrt-Merlin 388.1 is now available for all supported Wifi 6 models

Maybe the IPV6 fix is included in the rather vague "improved system stability". ASUS RT-AX86 Series(RT-AX86U/RT-AX86S) Firmware version 3.0.0.4.388.21709 Version 3.0.0.4.388.21709 70.84 MBytes 1. Optimized memory usage and improved system stability.
