5+ months later, the Beast is finally alive

Wouldn't be the first time Apple made exaggerated claims about the performance of its products. I think it had to retract those unfounded claims back in the PowerPC days. Does anyone else realize that Apple once used PowerPC (RISC) processors, then jumped to Intel (CISC) processors, and is now...

    pfSense computer bulid

I decided to give my Asus router a chance to be my firewall (it was always just an access point) after a hard drive failure in my ClearOS box. It was not always smooth sailing due to various firmware issues. Plus, security is "good enough" as minimal development is put into making the router...

ChannelHog - Monitor And Force Maximum 5GHz Bandwidth

Why not just use the reboot scheduler at the same off-hours time? Simpler and will yield the same results. Not criticizing your work, just noting that some people are already in the habit of rebooting on a schedule and would therefore be getting the same benefit as your ChannelHog script.

    ASUS RT-AC86U Firmware version 3.0.0.4.384_81049

Nothing to do with open source Linux. Just a case of poor quality control / lack of testing. Apple went the Unix/Linux route with OS X.

    ISP Quality and Asus Routers

Very interesting. Sounds like maybe there is inadequate error handling in some code causing kernel panics if a packet is corrupt. Is this a failure of Broadcom for not dropping garbage packets?
