    Frequent AC5300 disassociations

Then, it could be the router going bad, especially if all the clients are disassociating.

    Frequent AC5300 disassociations

Consider that you may have a bad radio in the client. If the dissassociations are only for the one client, that is most likely the problem.

[RT-AC88U] Router GUI Crawling at Snails Pace

If you are using Firefox, Google search for "Troubleshoot Firefox’s Performing TLS Handshake". There is an issue with self-signed certificates that can make Firefox choke. I deleted cert8.db and cert9.db from the Firefox profile. Problem solved.

NETGEAR "Stealthily" Releases the Nighthawk X6S R7960P

Just want to comment this thread has become one of the most interesting and informative for answering the question of "What does it take to have all the gamers in my house at the same time?" The answer from Netgear to purchase a business grade firewall and a business grade switch for gaming...

[Beta] Asuswrt-Merlin 384.11 Beta is now available

Same thing happened to me. I used the Asus Firmware Restoration tool to install 384.10_2.

(NOOB) Definition of "minimal and manual configuration"

Nice write up, L&LD. If only there was a single button to click that would do all of these steps...

[Release] Asuswrt-Merlin 384.9 is now available

Mania? Associations are normal and expected. If clients associate and then disassociate in a few seconds (or less), there is a problem. You should only see such messages if the client is moving into and out of range of the access point or being turned on/off. Logging exists to help...

    Custom firmware build for R7800 v. 1.0.2.63SF

The DD-WRT/Tomato approach is to start from scratch and use open-source drivers that do not have the manufacturers proprietary performance enhancements. The benefit is to have extra features but the cost is less overall performance. Both Voxel and Merlin (for Asus) keep the manufacturers...

[Release] Asuswrt-Merlin 384.9 is now available

Had the same problem. Fixed it by resetting to factory defaults and then made only the minimal changes necessary to the wireless configuration, like wireless mode and channels. It did not fix all of my problems, but the problem you are experiencing did go away.

[Beta] Asuswrt-Merlin 384.9 Beta is now available

Forcing the 2.4GHz band to 20MHz is something I have not yet tried. All others I have already done and/or already do. Thanks for the tips, bbunge. When Merlin releases the next build (beta 2 or official), I will give that a try and see what happens.

[Beta] Asuswrt-Merlin 384.9 Beta is now available

384.9 Beta 1, of course. I am pretty certain Merlin is not able to remove the AiMesh code since it is baked into the closed source. It no longer matters, though. I am tired of wasting my time trying to figure out the right order of operations or the right combination of settings to make the...

[Beta] Asuswrt-Merlin 384.9 Beta is now available

Ever since the AiMesh code was introduced, my RT-AC68R has been mostly collecting dust. Dropped packets and high latency kills streaming to my Chromecast. Resetting and manually re-configuring has not helped. The latest idea was to reset to factory defaults and only set the wireless mode and...

Is it possible to add BRT routers features into Merlin firmware?

I don't think Merlin wants to kill his relationship with Asus by adding "BRT" features to "RT" models, plus that goes beyond the scope of what he is doing anyway. If you have a need (business or personal) for features that only exist on "BRT" models, then purchasing a "BRT" model is the correct...

Voxel Custom firmware build for R7800 v. 1.0.2.62SF

Netgear has to first publish the source code for the new firmware. That can take a while.

[384.9_Alpha - builds] Testing all variants.

Try not changing any of the Professional settings. I had almost given up on my RT-AC68, which has worked terribly ever since AiMesh, but thought of an experiment. Reset to factory defaults and don't touch the Professional settings (mostly) which I would normally tweak. I do disable universal...

    ASUS RT-AC86U firmware release 3.0.0.4.384.45149 12/05/2018

I suspect it is because Asus is finally allowing these messages to appear in the logs. The problem causing the messages has existed for most, if not all, of this new code branch that is AiMesh.

Voxel Custom firmware build for R7800 v. 1.0.2.62SF

No support means you won't get any help to install Voxel's FW on the XR500. Asking the question is asking for support.

    Asuswrt-Merlin 384.8 is now available

Use a pair of transceivers and a sufficient length of optical fiber, pre-terminated of course. Standard practice for extending ethernet beyond the limits of copper cabling.

    ASUS RT-AC86U firmware release 3.0.0.4.384.45149 12/05/2018

What am I missing? Why is the client list so important? Are there features that rely on it?
