After few years with Asus routers I'm done with this.

I just don't understand why people expect so much from consumer grade products that are sold with extremely thin margins. If you want something better, buy business grade products or build/buy a system and run any of the open-source firewall distributions available. Stop expecting companies to...

    [Release 384/NG] Asuswrt-Merlin 384.5 is now available

That will be bad for everyone, including Asus.

Safety of a second hand asus router

Don't connect the WAN interface to your ISP device. Manually assign an IP address to the WAN interface of the router. Configure a client to connect directly to the WAN interface as though it is on the internet. Run your scan.

SNBForums Policy on ASUS TM-AC1900 Conversion Discussion

I do not have a TM router, yet I support Tim's decision. This is not censorship, just moderation. People who want to "get a deal" by purchasing a TM-AC1900 to convert into a RT-AC68U can have their discussions anywhere else that allows it. I don't see the problem.

New Upnp exploit affecting most Asus routers - "UPNproxy: Blackhat Proxies via NAT Injections"

The AndroidCentral article seems to be an advertisement for Google WiFi.

    [Release 384/NG] Asuswrt-Merlin 384.4 is now available

For me, this update was uneventful. There must be certain combinations of features that are causing issues, otherwise, everyone would be rejecting 384.4_2 and reverting back to the previous release. I probably avoid lots of problems due to only using my RT-AC68U as a basic router with tweaks to...

    RT-AC68U new firmware 3.0.0.4.384_20624-g14d2f02

It does appear now on the US website under Windows 10 32-bit.

    Netgear R7800 slower than R7000

My R7800 is better on both bands for my clients in terms of range and throughput. Implicit beamforming is off and so is the 160Mhz option.

    [Release 384/NG] Asuswrt-Merlin 384.4 is now available

I have upgraded two RT-AC68U routers to 384.4 and manage both via HTTPS with Firefox 59.X. Sounds like there might be a certificate issue with your browser.

    Replace RT-AC68U

If I had not decided to give the Qualcomm platform of the R7800 a chance, the RT-AC86U would have been my choice given the specs and support from Merlin. BTW - the basics (firewall, routing, wireless) of the R7800 work very well. Can't comment on the bells & whistles since I do not use them.

    [Preview] Asuswrt-Merlin 384.4 test builds

I have over 7 days of uptime and my RT-AC68R time is the same as my Linux client time, so no problem here.

    Custom firmware build for R7800 v. 1.0.2.46SF

I concur with this information having never factory reset since acquiring this router (1.0.2.36 was the factory installed version, I think). After installing each released NG firmware up to NG 1.0.2.44, I decided to give Voxel's firmware a try. Again, no factory reset has been done...
