    ASUS RT-AX88U Firmware v3.0.0.4.386_41249

Looks like ASUS just pulled this FW and is currently showing the last 384-version - not sure if this implies a recommendation to downgrade ...

Beta Asuswrt-Merlin 386.1 Beta is now available

Just upgraded again from 384.19 to latest 386 Stock version on my AX88U - no temperature increase yet but missing the Merlin experience. Will continue monitoring and decide next couple of days if I take another attempt to recent beta. Happy New Year everyone!

Beta Asuswrt-Merlin 386.1 Beta is now available

While Upgrade from 384.19 to Beta2 went without any hassle the upgrade from Beta 2 to 3 somewhat killed WLAN on my AX88 completely - no clients were able to connect after JFFS format and complete nuke reset with manual config. Went back to 384.19 for now. Not sure what has changed as I had no...

Beta Asuswrt-Merlin 386.1 Beta is now available

Yep - sames as I described in my previous post - and there seems to be no way to correct this. Same information showing in the app and delete is not working. But this might still be the issue of the app ...

Beta Asuswrt-Merlin 386.1 Beta is now available

Upgrade from 384.19 on my AX88U to Beta 2, running since 19 hours without any issues. Client list seems to be a bit corrupted - pressing refresh showing the corrent ammount of clinets incl. info, a few secs later the list is populated with devices that were connected within the last 19 hours but...

    RT-AX88U Wi-Fi Issues

    RT-AX88U Wi-Fi Issues

I certainly disagree as Merlin's Firmware has zero to do with Broadcom's closed driver source. I am personally running Merlin FW for years being super happy. Same time I can prove on my HW the wireless driver issues at least on 2.4Ghz simply by shifting between 2 versions. Anyway this has been...

    RT-AX88U Wi-Fi Issues

That will not solve the known and obvious Broadcom driver problems being closed source.

Release [Beta] Asuswrt-Merlin 384.19 beta is now available

Here is what "top" shows ... so like Merlin stated it seems to be the nt_center reorg going on - I'll let it settle over night ...

Release [Beta] Asuswrt-Merlin 384.19 beta is now available

This is how things look under normal circumstances - 384.18

Release [Beta] Asuswrt-Merlin 384.19 beta is now available

Understood - nevertheless the cpu going haywire never happened before - just with the new FW versions - so might be a driver change or whatsoever. While I agree with your assessment above I have never seen such odd behaviour before. Therefore I assume one or more of my settings is incompatible...

Release [Beta] Asuswrt-Merlin 384.19 beta is now available

I left it probably 15 to 20 minutes to settle - probably more needed no time/bandwidth to handle it today. Going back to 384.18 brought everything back to normal for now. Having that said I also tried the latest Stock FW swwing the same CPU spikes. This basically means a factory reset and manual...

Release [Beta] Asuswrt-Merlin 384.19 beta is now available

Just updated on my AX88U but CPU is going Haywire again - no add-ons running, no guest network, fixed channels .... Have done a factory reset / nuke with Alpha 2 showing same symptoms, not iem right now, will revert back to 384.18 for now

    Release [ 384.19_Alpha Build(s) ] Testing available build(s)

Maybe the issue is not running any additional modules or specialties :-) ... will try at another time again but no time right now

    Release [ 384.19_Alpha Build(s) ] Testing available build(s)

This is right why I moved back to 384.18 as I had no time to do a full reconfig after upgrade - the last nuke reset with manual reconfig was after moving to 384.17

    Release [ 384.19_Alpha Build(s) ] Testing available build(s)

Tried dirty upgrade from 384.18 om my AX88 - no AImesh, no QoS, no additional tools or modules. Had to go back to 384.18 as my cores were intermittently jumping up and down, 5Ghz was completely gone. Power cycle in various ways did not resolve the issues and as I had to go into a concall I went...

    Wi-Fi Signal Strength RT-AC86U v RT-AX88U

I'd be surprised if the problem is solved through HW repair as there were many folks here in the forum reporting similar issues after FW upgrade. In any way, please report back to see if/what may have changed! Good luck!

    Wi-Fi Signal Strength RT-AC86U v RT-AX88U

@brummygit - I can confirm all your observations, this discussion has been going on for some time unfortunately ending up in philosophical debates. I also remember some forum members being in touch with ASUS on this problem but I have not seen any progress. As I can confirm the same observation...
