    WLAN AX88U vs. AC86U

Just testing an AX88U with 384.14 - configured manually from scratch - against my previous AC86U, also on 384.14. If I compare wireless performance it currently feels like the AX88U is a bit stronger on 5Ghz bur weaker on 2.4Ghz. Both routers configured same, fixed channels and surely not...

[Release] Asuswrt-Merlin 384.14 (and 384.13_2) are now available

Looks like to consider a downgrade to 384.13 - considering the same due to the above mentioed config problems

[Release] Asuswrt-Merlin 384.14 (and 384.13_2) are now available

Thanks for your "kind & friendly" response - as you may have read from my post I did what you just described - factory reset, manually config ... - except that the "stupid" thing is, that a clean restore of the config sends your device into nirvana on 384.14 ONLY - same thing on my AC86U as well...

[Release] Asuswrt-Merlin 384.14 (and 384.13_2) are now available

It was my understanding that one of the MERLIN befits is/was to be able to exchange config between different devices - I might have been wrong. After a night of extensive testing I finally figured, that even restores on the same platform send the device in the woods. I tried this on my AC86U as...

[Release] Asuswrt-Merlin 384.14 (and 384.13_2) are now available

Confirmed - BUT: I did save the manual config on the AX88U and after restore on the same HW it is in the woods. Tried the same with 384.13 without any problem. Seems to be something tied to 384.14 - will continue to monitor ...

[Release] Asuswrt-Merlin 384.14 (and 384.13_2) are now available

So a little bit progress - as long as I put 384.13 on the AX88U I can leverage config from my AC86U - as soon as I then try to upgrade the AX88U to 384.14 it goes into the woods. So it currently looks like the only way to get the new AX88U on 384.14 is a manual config from scratch ... :-(

[Release] Asuswrt-Merlin 384.14 (and 384.13_2) are now available

MAN - that did the trick and it looks like I am back in business - not sure though what has caused the mess - anyway, will give it another try! @bluepoint - I did try the domain name but did not work at all - unfortunately Off to the next attempt ...

[Release] Asuswrt-Merlin 384.14 (and 384.13_2) are now available

Received a brand new RT-AX88U this afternoon, router was accessbile on 192.168.50.1 as default, all I did was upgrade to 384.14 - since then I cannot get to the main page anymore - neither on 192.168.1.1 not 50.1 - currently trying to figure how to get access - not sure even reset or recovery...

[Release] Asuswrt-Merlin 384.14 (and 384.13_2) are now available

Was in the middle of up/cross grading from RT86U to AX88U - did put the AX88U on clean 384.13 yesterday, did upgrade to 384.14 this morning and it looks like the device passed away. Cannot do a factory reset anymore, nor did the FW recovery mode succeed. And yes, I did try the fuill armada of...

    AC66U_B1, 384.12, Webinterface problems

On my AC86U I can tell that I recognized a slower web interface too - I recently changed from stock to Merlin back with full reset and manual yonfig - yes, the famous L&LD nuke reset. It is with various browsers as well as devices - so no cache problem. will see if a downgrade to 11_2 and back...

[384.12_Alpha - builds] Testing all variants.

sorry - my bad and misunderstanding - I thought you meant a 2nd router :-) I tested from 2 -3 other PCs tablet and mobile phone - Androind and IOS - all the same. In the meantime I upgraded to 12-beta1 and for now all is crisp and responsive - will post back in case I encounter any further findings!

[384.12_Alpha - builds] Testing all variants.

Yes - I did try that cleaning complete history on Chrome and Firefox - no success. That was the point in time I decided to go back to 11.2 - which seems to run flawless up until now. As said I might try Alpha 12 over the weekend once more ...

[384.12_Alpha - builds] Testing all variants.

Your proposed idea sounds great, especially to compare not-so-common settings. In my config I am using the device as a simple WLAN router, no additional tools installed, no QOS or AIP, not even guest network enabled - nada. Just plain routing with WLAN schedule enabled. Region may play a role...

[384.12_Alpha - builds] Testing all variants.

Being up on my RT-AC86U since 4 days on 12 Alpha 2 it looks like the responsiveness of the UI is getting slower and slower. Main screen building up in blocks, tried various browsers incl. cache cleared, no CPU load, no traffic - bet after reboot everything is back to normal, was not the case...

    [Release] Asuswrt-Merlin 384.11 is available

Did a clean upgrade to 11.2 on my RT-AC86U - seeing the following in the logs now (might have been blind or just getting older...) May 5 07:05:07 avahi-daemon[789]: WARNING: No NSS support for mDNS detected, consider installing nss-mdns! May 5 07:05:08 lldpd[865]: cannot get ethtool link...
