    forcing IPV6 with asus router

Comcast did make a change they bumped up there provisioning just a few mbps this was discussed in other forums we all noticed it but nobody really knows why. I use to get consistently 57/11 now its always 60/12.

    Extension cord for RTAC66U

I like the idea above. If not cut the cord and carefully solder a extension of very similar wire together tape with electric tape and then some heat shrink tubing. These routers dont draw big current so 7ft extra should be fine. Wanted to add, Remember with DC voltage you must observe the...

    Asuswrt-Merlin 376.48 is out

The command line has been taken out of the firmware some versions ago due to security issues.

Has anyone changed the antennas on their RT-ac68u router?

Dont waste your money many have tried with very little difference or in some cases worse performance then the stock antennas.

Enable or Disable- Log DHCP queries

Is there any advantage to having this enabled other then seeing the same clients connect or disconnect from the router ? I dont like my sys log filling up with a bunch of stuff if its not needed. Any advise would be appreciated. Jim!

    AC66R WORST RANGE

If you want to use older firmware use John's fork it is rock solid and has most of the security updates as the new firmware. The firmware mentioned 38_2 is probably not the best choice due to security issues.

What firmware version is the most stable for wireless on ASUS RT-AC66U router?

Merlin 376.49_alpha2 if you care about IPv6. If not 376.48 Merlin build. Also dont forget about John's fork build it works very well. 374.43_2-v6

Why not Zoidberg? (new IPv6 test alpha builds)

Ok just checking. Strange though this alpha build seems to have fixed my v6 issues as of now. I was always able to get a v6 address on most firmwares but keeping it was always my problem this build as of now seems to have solved that.

Why not Zoidberg? (new IPv6 test alpha builds)

Are you doing full factory resets and reconfiguring manually after bouncing around between firmwares ? There is a huge thread on the comcast forums with boatloads of problems with that gateway. I could post the link to it if you are not aware of the comcast forums.

Why not Zoidberg? (new IPv6 test alpha builds)

Comcast is terrible at keeping that website up to date. When i was using my Zoom 5341J it showed it did not support IPv6 and clearly it did, they finally after months updated it.

Why not Zoidberg? (new IPv6 test alpha builds)

Duel stack just simply means IPv4/IPv6 (duel) on the same network. I want to also report IPv6 is still holding rock solid here with the new alpha build.

Why not Zoidberg? (new IPv6 test alpha builds)

I had similar up times with older builds but the new 48_1 would hold v6 for at most a day. We shall see as the clock tics on.

Why not Zoidberg? (new IPv6 test alpha builds)

Very close to one day uptime and no IPv6 issues. :) I could not hardly get 12 hours with 376.48_1 before it would drop IPv6. Also i dont see any issues with this Alpha build all running smooth. Comcast, Native DHCPv6.

Why not Zoidberg? (new IPv6 test alpha builds)

First, Thanks Merlin for jumping on this problem. Just installed the Alpha version and happy to report v6 is working in fact i didnt even have to play around rebooting it just worked the first time thats a change in itself. I will see over the next 24 hours if v6 holds out unlike the 48_1 build...

    dsl-ac68u

Merlin dont support that device. If you try and load a firmware from another supported device best case it wont work worst case you will brick it. Why not pick up another supported device ?

    Asuswrt-Merlin 376.48 is out

Well i am glad its working for you,and yes i am using comcast. Ipv6 is not stable for me and others on this build have no idea why. Switching back to John's fork fixes the problem and also works great. I dont care about icons and cpu meters its all eye candy. I want a firmware that works and the...

    Asuswrt-Merlin 376.48 is out

I am also back on the fork. As far as the CPU usage that was introduced starting with the 376 builds, nice feature but i can live with out it.
