    Asus RT-N66U firmware question

If you have the N66U you would be much better off with John's fork firmware it offers much better signal and range then any of the new builds form Asus and Merlin latest builds and retains all the latest security updates you can read more here...

    Wireless range troubles 378.53_0

I change firmware all the time. I like trying different ones just to see how they perform I am using Merlins latest right now and it works very good for me. Sorry your having issues I don't own the AC66U so I cant comment on how that router performs but have heard good things from most. I am...

    Wireless range troubles 378.53_0

A lot of people love John's builds and hope he never stops releasing them. :) You are aware that there was a version 11 that was just released recently but certainly nothing wrong with v-10

    Asus 68P qos & iphone/android WAN?

Yep just setting about 5 or 10 MBPS slower then your speed tier helps quite a bit to stop the BB. Also from what you describe it sounds like you to are experiencing BB it's not that uncommon and at least i know for a fact comcast is working on the issue but there probably wont be a solution...

    Asus 68P qos & iphone/android WAN?

Probably only BB if you notice lag and latency ping issues when your connection is near max speed. I have comcast and they have very noticeable BB when the connection is maxed so i use adaptive QOS to keep the connection from maxing out works good and no more BB at the price of a very small...

Now I know why Netgear polices its forums

Yeah i hate that forum for just this reason i have had many posts that were never approved for what ever reason and other posts that took sometimes up to 24 hours to post unacceptable in my book much to long to wait when someone needs help with a issue. I also no longer own netgear routers and...

RT-AC68U stops providing ipv6 addresses to clients

Comcast v6 i It's not DOS'ing you it's just comcast has a known issue they refuse to address that allows the v6 neighbor table to overflow constantly and the router logs the event every time it happens. That code that Merlin posted is the work around for the issue and it stops the router from...

RT-AC68U stops providing ipv6 addresses to clients

I always do a complete factory reset after any firmware flash even if they say it's not needed. And yes indeed after enabling v6 you would need a reboot to obtain a v6 address. Hope it works for you i have Native here so things may be a bit different for you.

RT-AC68U stops providing ipv6 addresses to clients

Dont really have a solution but rather a comment. I am using AC68R and Merlins 53 since its release and IPv6 has been stable and solid since the flash. Comcast is my ISP. You can try going into the router and disable and enable IPv6 again then reboot modem then router and see if that helps.

    ac68u FW378.53 no 5mhz

I think you meant 5 GHZ not MHZ. I have been using 53 since it's release with no issues as stated something in your environment might be at play. I would do a full WPS button factory reset and try again.

[Fork] Asuswrt-Merlin 374.43 LTS releases (Archive)

Been using VER-10 since it's release on my AC68R and have had no issues what so ever. In fact when i tried Merlins latest 52_2 i had to switch back to John's fork because certain devices were dropping the 5GHZ band and my Ipad was freezing loading web pages, switching back to VER-10 and all is...

    Asuswrt-Merlin 378.52 is available

Is it safe to assume there is no need for a factory reset going from 52 to 52_2 ? EDIT: Flashed 52_2 and after going through a few pages in the UI it locks me out and a reboot is needed to get back in the router. Never had this happen before guess i will try a factory reset if no joy will...

    Asuswrt-Merlin 378.52 is available

For me i just click Native and then apply reboot the router and IPv6 is there and working. I have had issues in the past with Comcast IPv6 and Asus routers but since Asus and Merlin has changed the way IPv6 is implemented in there code a few firmwares back it has been pretty solid at least on my...
