    CakeQOS Weird Wifi Slow downs

Hadn’t tried that previously but just did. 160ish before I disabled. Same 160ish after it was disabled.

    CakeQOS Weird Wifi Slow downs

Came home from work and problem is still there. As you can see in the photos. 158 with cake on. 313 with it off. Upload always gets nerfed with cake as well.

    CakeQOS Weird Wifi Slow downs

I originally thought the same so I made sure to force 80mhz channels and used winfi to choose unused channels. My AP and Router are on different non overlapping channels (when the slowdowns happen it doesn’t matter if I’m connected to router or AP either). There’s very little interference (and...

    CakeQOS Weird Wifi Slow downs

Unfortunately that's not it. I'm the only one home and even checked my router to make sure nothing else was using bandwidth. And it's just too coincidental it's ALWAYS in the 160-170 range when it's acting up. Edit: I just did a full reset on my AX88U and everything is speed testing as expected...

    CakeQOS Weird Wifi Slow downs

I have a really odd one here that I just started noticing recently. My connection is 250/15 and with QOS turned off I consistently hit 290/17 hence the 260/15 QOS settings. I usually pull 250/15 easily with cake on but recently I've noticed on Wifi I'll hit a 160/10 with little to no fluctuation...

    CakeQOS CakeQoS-Merlin v2.0.0

I started using cake a few months ago and it has worked great. Just today I noticed some weird speed drops. I initially thought my cable company dropped me down a speed tier since I just renegotiated our rate but when I turned off cake my speeds were as expected. I ran speed tests on 4 different...

    CakeQOS CakeQoS-Merlin v2.0.0 alpha

Thanks, I'll give Merlin's implementation a go with the 2.0 Alpha and see if I notice any differences.

    CakeQOS CakeQoS-Merlin v2.0.0 alpha

I'm currently running (and have been for months) the cake-qos script. I'm very happy with the performance. Any reason to switch to merlin's built in solution?

    CakeQOS CakeQOS-Merlin v1.0.8

I’m running cake with pretty much default settings (docsis and ack filter) and everything is butter smooth. How does merlin’s default settings compare to the current default? Any reason to run one implementation over the other?

To AiMesh or not to AiMesh - that is the question

I have an AX88 with an AX58 set up as an AP. When Aimesh 2.0 rolled out I thought it would be worth trying it out. It took me two days to go back to running the AX58 as an AP as I had some weird connection drop outs that never happened when the second router was setup as an AP. I did quite a bit...

Release Asuswrt-Merlin 386.1 is now available

Yep I have the private Mac off. Running the AP has always worked well for me so I don’t feel I’m missing much with Aimesh.

Release Asuswrt-Merlin 386.1 is now available

For anyone with the same problem, it seems it was caused by Aimesh. I had always run my AX58U as an AP but decided to try out Aimesh 2.0. Switched it back to an AP and problem went away. Weird considering everybody else seems to have good results with Aimesh.

Release Asuswrt-Merlin 386.1 is now available

I don't think so. Just factory reset it with the WPS button and re-setup the node. Takes 2 minutes.

Release Asuswrt-Merlin 386.1 is now available

Anybody having issues where iPhones just hang and you eventually get a “Safari could not open the page because the server stopped responding” message? Has only happened since 386.1. I’ve tried resetting network settings on the phones and I’ve done a full reset on both my router and node (AX88U...

    Aimesh Test with RT-AX88U and RT-AX56U ( 386.1_beta3 )

Anybody have any thoughts/information on how this compares to running an AP instead? I have a similar setup (RT-AX58 running as my AP). I tried it with Aimesh and as an AP a year or so ago when I set it up and it seemed to perform better as an AP with non overlapping channels. Curious how much...

Ambient Weather Device Loses Connection Nightly

I have a WS2000 and I’ve recently started having it drop internet connection as well. It worked fine for over a year with 0 issues. However there doesn’t seem to be any rhyme or reason to when it decides to drop connection. Most times it reconnects on its own (sometimes takes hours though). I’m...

    AiMesh vs Access Point ?

The way I tested the roaming performance of aimesh versus an AP is I setup my iPad in front of a tv and FaceTimed my phone. Then I walked across the house with my phone making sure to cross over the handoff point multiple times and observed what happened to the FaceTime video and audio. Both the...

    AiMesh vs Access Point ?

That is correct. I am also using smart connect so one ssid for all 4 radios (2.4 and 5 on router and AP). I know smart connect tends to get a bad rap on the forums, but I’ve always been very pleased with the performance. All 4 radios are on different non-overlapping channels.
