[R7800] Will no longer save settings after reboot.

I started with one similar to @HELLO_wORLD but using @kamoj's plug in I never really saw a drop in temperature in the router. I got this https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01KZALHGK/?tag=snbforums-20 and my radio and CPU temps now consistently run 20 degrees F cooler than before without it...

    Custom firmware build for R7800 v. 1.0.2.74.4SF

If you have a USB drive attached to the router I suggest that you download the KAmoj addon onto the usb drive *instead* of the root directory of the router. You can run the Kamoj addon install from the usb drive and your downloaded installation file will survive reboots of the router and allow...

    Custom firmware build for R7800 v. 1.0.2.74.4SF

I am on .72 here and everything is in the green. Don't know how the browser matters since the test is outside the router from grc servers to your router. (Firefox)

Critical Netgear Bug Impacts Flagship Nighthawk Router

I am also on .72 and from what I read above, Voxel says the necessary patches have been in since .68. I can't ever imagine going back to stock.

Kamoj Kamoj Add-on 5.1 Beta testing poll

Hello Kamoj, is it possible to add an indicator to your status page to show whether transmission is running or not? Maybe something like OpenVPN client status. -maybe- Perhaps a set of radio buttons to perform the nvram commands to turn it on/off? Love the addon.

    Custom firmware build for R7800 v. 1.0.2.74.1SF

Far as I know - Voxel's release notes are the only thing. I don't know of a comprehensive document.

    Custom firmware build for R7800 v. 1.0.2.74.1SF

Unfortunately as of now, no. This used to work correctly up to and including firmware version .62SF. After version .62SF this behavior became the norm. I have spent a great deal of time trying to find the change which made the difference but I had to pause due to RealLife. You could flash your...

    R7800 Rebooting randomly

If overheating is even a possibility, get a laptop cooling pad to put under your router. I used a $15 one i found on amazon powered by USB and thanks to @kamoj I know my CPU now runs about 25 degrees F cooler, my 5g chip 45 degrees F cooler and 2g chip about 20 degrees F cooler.

    Kamoj Kamoj add-on V5 for Netgear R7800 X4S and R9000 X10

I do the following, and it allows me to re-install easily after firmware upgrade. Attach a USB drive to the 7800 - i had a spare 128GB and I leave it permanently attached. Follow Kamoj's instructions and telnet into your 7800. Before downloading the .ipk - change directories to your USB drive...

    Kamoj Kamoj add-on V5 for Netgear R7800 X4S and R9000 X10

fwiw: if you load it onto a usb stick you can install it directly from the usb stick, no copy into the router necessary

Kamoj What's this update available via the kamoj v5 add on?

The Kamoj addon is itself a GUI update. I would not perform that update above at all until kamoj explicitly says doing so does not break his addon.

    Kamoj Kamoj add-on V5 for Netgear R7800 X4S and R9000 X10

@kamoj - perhaps during installation you can ensure the standard debug.htm is reset. I spent a short minute not remembering your page had moved when I upgraded from v4 to v5, current install leaves a broken web page there.

Strange issue with Arris TM1602AP2 and R7800

Yes, I was modifying init scripts like net-wan to perform this upon startup in a few places that seemed appropriate. I saw brwan being used in there as an alias. In the 62SF version of some of the init scripts WAN_IF is set to eth0 if it's not set, but in 72SF this is not done. When I say I have...

    Custom firmware build for R7800 v. 1.0.2.72SF

Voxel, I did tests using ifconfig $WAN_IF down; sleep 10; ifconfig $WAN_IF up which did not seem to do anything? Is 'ifconfig $WAN_IF down' the right thing to try to bring down the wan port power/connection? And $WAN_IF was set to eth0.

    Custom firmware build for R7800 v. 1.0.2.72SF

Thank you for all your work on this firmware. I greatly appreciate a better working device than the stock FW. When I can I will devote some more time to attempting a fix. I like your idea of delaying the net-lan startup. What about starting net-wan first? I will wait for the next Voxel FW...

    Custom firmware build for R7800 v. 1.0.2.72SF

Have you had a chance to look at the early connection of the WAN port as if the router is in Bridge mode during boot?

Strange issue with Arris TM1602AP2 and R7800

Based on comparisons and @Bichon's really helpful post above. I have tried all I can think of to get around this problem. I have even tried 'ifconfig $WAN_IF down;sleep 10' type changes to the boot sequences in net-wan. I don't think this is solvable in the script realm unless it's far earlier...
