RT-AX86U WiFi Calling Using Samsung Phone Intermittant

This issue ended as an IFM. Since I had eliminated the ISP, Modem, and phone as possible culprits -- only the router remained. I tried all solutions on here without success, so I regressed the router to factory settings and manually added back each page of settings from screenshots I had...

RT-AX86U WiFi Calling Using Samsung Phone Intermittant

Thank you for the suggestion. I think I tried it before, but since I had blown out and rebuilt all the networks again it was back on. I turned it off but it made no change.

RT-AX86U WiFi Calling Using Samsung Phone Intermittant

@bennor Correct. I created a new wireless network on the tp-link and connected the phone to that network. Still had the same problem, unless I connected the TP Link directly to the internet instead of the Asus. No AIProtect, QoS enabled. I have isolated the phone to WiFi only using...

RT-AX86U WiFi Calling Using Samsung Phone Intermittant

@bennor I got a simple router (TPLink Archer A6) When plugged in as an AP, the behavior is the same, so no workaround. However, I went one step further and when I plugged the internet directly into the Archer the problem went away. Definitely something in the RT-AX86U. Bad part is that since...

RT-AX86U WiFi Calling Using Samsung Phone Intermittant

Thanks for you respons, I know I am not the only one with the issue. I have a new router coming in today so I can further isolate the issue. Will post my results.

RT-AX86U WiFi Calling Using Samsung Phone Intermittant

I don't have anything but ASUS at home (I am not being paid for that ad). If this post goes nowhere, I may pick up a cheap router to play with. Thanks for the suggestion.

RT-AX86U WiFi Calling Using Samsung Phone Intermittant

I appreciate the fast response. I have gone through many of these and tried the solutions with no change. I am continuing to go through them, but thought I would post my own specifics incase someone had the same experience.

RT-AX86U WiFi Calling Using Samsung Phone Intermittant

Using Merlin : 3004.388.6 firmware I have an S23+ and the WiFi calling only works intermittently. If I reboot the S23, Wifi calling works once or twice then fails. Inbound calls go directly to voicemail and outbound won't work at all. Same with messages. Everything else internet works...

I am still dealing with this issue, did y0u ever find a solution?

Cell Phone Calls Using WiFi on an RT-AX86U Don't Go Through (Intermittently)

I have spoken to the level 2 techs and they say everything should work fine. Never thought about modem involvement.

Cell Phone Calls Using WiFi on an RT-AX86U Don't Go Through (Intermittently)

My daughter-in-law has an Apple phone but it will be a week before she's in for a visit. Thanks for the input, I hadn't thought about seeing if it was OS specific

Cell Phone Calls Using WiFi on an RT-AX86U Don't Go Through (Intermittently)

I am using WiFi calling on my Android cell phone connecting to my RT-AX86U Intermittently (the worst kind of problem) inbound calls will not come through and they get sent to voicemail. Also text messages will not go out. If I turn the phone's WiFi off, the problem goes away. The WiFi...

Home Relocation/Network Move/RT-AX86U to Pro Migration

Great advice! I am so used to DHCP being a set-it-and-forget-it thing it never even occurred to me to prep the old site with shorter leases to avoid issues, Thank you!

Home Relocation/Network Move/RT-AX86U to Pro Migration

I am relocating to another state but will have a few months when I will be moving back and forth. Since I will need networks in both locations, I bought an RT-AX86U Pro for the new site and will leave my RT-AX86U at my old place until the end of the move when it will go to the new locale and be...

Upgrading to AX86AU, But Now It Won't Connect to Internet

Thanks for the response, always helps to get a new set of eyes on something. Did not use the settings file, never crossed my mind since they were different models. Physical connection is good and the jumper is new. It is says it is connected, just not passing data. Never thought about...

Upgrading to AX86AU, But Now It Won't Connect to Internet

Upgrading from AC5300 to an AX86AU. Got everything set up, used all the settings from the old router. Things were working fine on the AX86U but then it stopped talking to the internet. I was renaming devices, etc not changing settings when I noticed the internet was no longer connected. --...

    Setting up Aimesh system

Thanks for the info. I will give it a whirl and see what happens. I have fairly good connectivity throughout, but a little extra umph couldn't hurt. The node will be two floors under the main. I will post what happens in case anyone else is considering the same.

    Setting up Aimesh system

Is this during the pairing process only? I will have an AC5300 left over when I upgrade to the RT-AX86U and was thinking for using it as a node. Putting them in the same room for pairing is easy, but to permanently connect via LAN cable I would have to do it via MoCA. Not sure this is any...

    Replacing AC5300 -- AX6000 or AX11000

Thanks for the response. There is a seperate hub that actually handles the devices using ZWave -- but it transmits some of the traffic via WiFi through the router. That hub has a 200 device limit.
