wildcard cert for DDNS Let's Encrypt

That is actually incorrect, as of ACMEv2 they do, https://letsencrypt.org/docs/faq/#does-let-s-encrypt-issue-wildcard-certificates

wildcard cert for DDNS Let's Encrypt

So not sure if this is a bug or intended, I have been looking through the docs and posts here but dont see anything around this @RMerlin. It seems that enabling let's encrypt doesn't honor the wildcard setting on the DDNS page. As a user, if I am using the ASUS to issue my certs for the one...

amtm amtm - the Asuswrt-Merlin Terminal Menu

dates way back to the good ol IRC/AIM days, some habbits die hard and our population is so small world wide that nobody knows what it means anyway :D

    how to reset/upgrade outdated entware

Here is what I ended up doing, for posterity sake if anyone else finds themselves in my boat. https://www.snbforums.com/threads/amtm-the-asuswrt-merlin-terminal-menu.42415/page-105#post-577007

amtm amtm - the Asuswrt-Merlin Terminal Menu

Ok for posterity sake here is what I did to sort this out. NOTE: this worked for me as I only had a handful of entware pkgs installed. 1. amtm 2. remove all the scripts and things you have installed 3. amtm - format disk 4. reboot 5. amtm - re-setup entware 6. amtm - re-install scripts

    how to reset/upgrade outdated entware

Well just tried pointing it to that but it was throwing errors that the pkgs in the repo are not for the right architecture :/
  7. E

    how to reset/upgrade outdated entware

it tries to but craps out because it wants to install a pkg (columns) that doesn't exist in the super out of date repo i am currently pointing to and afraid to point away from :D. I am hoping that all of this is simply solvable by editing my opkg.conf and pointing it to...

amtm amtm - the Asuswrt-Merlin Terminal Menu

No the router is running the latest firmware, which has AMTM installed. However, I have had entware installed for ages, way before amtm existed. Resetting the router and starting from scratch currently is not an option. So I guess my question is, can i simply point the repo to the official new...

amtm amtm - the Asuswrt-Merlin Terminal Menu

So i think i found a bug in the script's logic. the problem is that amtm was included in the firmware at some point and it sees entware already installed and the script doesn't have a "reset entware" option, or an "upgrade from previous install" so basically AMTM's logic seems to be: 1. you do...

    how to reset/upgrade outdated entware

No AMTM is fine, the problem is that amtm was included in the firmware at some point in the firmware and it sees entware already installed and the script doesn't have a "reset entware" option, or an "upgrade from previous install" soooo basically AMTM is useless as it assuming that: 1. you do...

    how to reset/upgrade outdated entware

So I believe I am running into a bit of a conundrum. Somewhere along the way entware was installed on my router by hand before things were as nicely packaged as they currently are with the firmware. It is currently pointing to http://qnapware.zyxmon.org/binaries-armv7 which is quite out of date...

    SSL offloading

Is it possible to leverage the Asus to do SSL offloading for apps that get port-forwarded? I know I can potentially do this with nginx as a reverse proxy, but not sure if I will be able to cobble it together enough. I also understand that there will be a CPU/performance hit potentially but right...

AHA... seems somewhere in there i missed the intro of some new features... thanks

settings not saving, taking effect as long as in UI then drop

From AMTM I have: skynet enabled and thats it. I have not tried disabling skynet yet.

settings not saving, taking effect as long as in UI then drop

So something strange is going on with my router. I am unable to do the following: 1. Disable Lets Encrypt (with or without this enabled the device is still presenting the self-signed and generated cert... so figured disable it for now til I figure out why) 2. Enable WAN SSH access 3. Enable...

bonjour/mdns not working between wired and wireless clients

so I think i have it narrowed down to me basically needing to force everything in the same vlan so the switch will actually acknowledge the traffic that comes in but in order to do that I need to play with setting VLAN tags on the router side. I have not found a way to do it through the GUI, am...

bonjour/mdns not working between wired and wireless clients

hmmm digging some more, it seems it might be connected to my netgear gs108T that all my wired clients are currently hooked up to for Link Aggregation.

bonjour/mdns not working between wired and wireless clients

I have now tried running .40-beta3 with a full factory reset, turning off HW Accel, STP and turning on IGMP, still no luck :/ wired clients only see wired, wireless clients only see wireless.

bonjour/mdns not working between wired and wireless clients

I have now tried IGMP snooping enabled on both 5 and 2.4 as well as disabling HW acceleration, none seem to work :/

bonjour/mdns not working between wired and wireless clients

Yeah i have been investigating more and it doesnt exhibit this behavior when mixing 5ghz and 2.4ghz. It is not machine related as I can plug my laptop into the wired network and remove it from the wireless and it stops seeing the wireless AirPlay targets. It seems as if the traffic is nto being...
