TAILMON TAILMON v1.0.20 -July 27, 2024- WireGuard-based Tailscale Installer, Configurator and Monitor (THREAD #1 CLOSED)

Custom mode uses Kernel mode as the starting point so that makes sense. Glad it’s working for you both. Everytime Tailscale posts an update @Viktor Jaep lives in fear of them breaking something :)

Access Network on the VPN Client Side? CGNAT troubles!

I'm biased ( :) ) but maybe consider Tailscale for Router 3? Set it up as a Subnet Router, which can get past CGNAT. It's the primary reason I and quite a few others use it. And it just so happens that @Viktor Jaep made a wonderful TAILMON Addon, just for the Tailscale install on a Router and...

TAILMON TAILMON v1.0.20 -July 27, 2024- WireGuard-based Tailscale Installer, Configurator and Monitor (THREAD #1 CLOSED)

@Viktor Jaep is the man  ! And there is no “may” as far as I’m concerned, getting past CGNAT by configuring Tailscale with a subnet router got me access to my remote device. Love it!

TAILMON TAILMON v1.0.20 -July 27, 2024- WireGuard-based Tailscale Installer, Configurator and Monitor (THREAD #1 CLOSED)

I’ve no idea about what change from pre to post 1.66 might be causing your specific issue, but have you ever done a —reset (now in TAILMON). Asking due to the change in the stateful filtering defaults introduced in 1.66, which were changed 180deg in the next update after that. Also wondering if...

TAILMON TAILMON v1.0.20 -July 27, 2024- WireGuard-based Tailscale Installer, Configurator and Monitor (THREAD #1 CLOSED)

Great that you got it up and running, it’s satisfying when it works. I’m in the same boat as you TBH, I am not really that clued up on networking or Tailscale and @Viktor Jaep’s intention with TAILMON was to provide the platform for installing it on our little Routers, but to be fair to him...

TAILMON TAILMON v1.0.20 -July 27, 2024- WireGuard-based Tailscale Installer, Configurator and Monitor (THREAD #1 CLOSED)

@ViktorJaep have you done the 1.68.0-1.68.1 update? I just tried to update 1.68.0 to 1.68.1 and for the first update ever, it hung on the the tailscale up line. Manually downgraded to 1.68.0; same Manually downgraded to 1.66.4; same Rebooted Router. Same. Just my system, bad SSD or Tailscale...

TAILMON TAILMON v1.0.20 -July 27, 2024- WireGuard-based Tailscale Installer, Configurator and Monitor (THREAD #1 CLOSED)

That’s odd. I swear @Viktor Jaep recently fixed the custom commands not being saved, maybe there’s a rabbit hole where is gets missed. I’m sure he’ll find it if there’s an issue. Ah yes, I recall now, you are in the situation where you can’t ignore the overwrite (as suggested earlier in this...

TAILMON TAILMON v1.0.20 -July 27, 2024- WireGuard-based Tailscale Installer, Configurator and Monitor (THREAD #1 CLOSED)

Great! the instructions can be a placeholder for others. I'm not sure what (if any) TAILMON or Tailscale Admin Page or CLI setting caused the change in the default --accept-dns=true but @Viktor Jaep is correct in that the error message is a good indicator of the non-default setting (in this...

TAILMON TAILMON v1.0.20 -July 27, 2024- WireGuard-based Tailscale Installer, Configurator and Monitor (THREAD #1 CLOSED)

Just remembered this post where the downgrade didn’t work. But I remember what I did now. IIRC I got the Tailscale binaries from pkgs.tailscale.com/stable/, then selected the older version using the dropdown. You need to navigate to static binaries (other distros) and select arm64. I have...

TAILMON TAILMON v1.0.20 -July 27, 2024- WireGuard-based Tailscale Installer, Configurator and Monitor (THREAD #1 CLOSED)

I tried this once on the Router but it didn’t work; it worked on my RPi4 though. [EDIT] The next easiest way is to copy older binaries to /op/bin/ per my post below. If the above doesn’t work I think the next option is to just copy any custom command lines and screenshot configs, uninstall...

TAILMON TAILMON v1.0.20 -July 27, 2024- WireGuard-based Tailscale Installer, Configurator and Monitor (THREAD #1 CLOSED)

I wonder if it's because ours restarted by itself. Do you have these settings for (1) and (6)?

TAILMON TAILMON v1.0.20 -July 27, 2024- WireGuard-based Tailscale Installer, Configurator and Monitor (THREAD #1 CLOSED)

Hi, did you mean you solved it by removing the "--advertise-routes" option or "--accept-routes" option (via "--accept-routes=false"). I must admit this issue bugs me a wee bit as I also like to access my local LAN devices via local IPs and not Tailscale's IPs, so I've done a wee bit of reading...

    Skynet Skynet errors

SNIP Seems to have fixed itself. No idea how.

TAILMON TAILMON v1.0.20 -July 27, 2024- WireGuard-based Tailscale Installer, Configurator and Monitor (THREAD #1 CLOSED)

Cannot really answer your question with a solution sorry, but I will say that is not the way mine behaves i.e. I can always access the Router via its 192.168.x.1 address after installing Tailscale via TAILMON. Could you provide your settings line if you use custom settings?

    Skynet Skynet errors

Sorry to jump in on this post but I have what I thought was a similar issue (may not be?) with what I know to be a safe site, that worked for days but just stopped working. If I check the site using my Phone (on LTE not on Wifi) it is fine, so it is definitely through the router. The site is...

AiMesh Node 2 Not updating firmware

When I’ve had this issue I’ve rebooted the node a couple of times until it took. Worth a try :-)

TAILMON TAILMON v1.0.20 -July 27, 2024- WireGuard-based Tailscale Installer, Configurator and Monitor (THREAD #1 CLOSED)

No worries. Not a huge fan of the “-2-“ usage from a grammatical standpoint (B2B etc), but that’s just a personal preference; -)

TAILMON TAILMON v1.0.20 -July 27, 2024- WireGuard-based Tailscale Installer, Configurator and Monitor (THREAD #1 CLOSED)

Quick Q; at this point, would all other switches (assuming custom settings used) that were set by the user also be reset? So it would add only the —accept-routes switch to the standard config right? And all custom settings previously saved would be lost ? So a custom user wanting additional...
