Release Asuswrt-Merlin 3006.102.1 is now available for Wifi 7 devices

Hi and welcome to the forums! I understand there are lots of languages out there but I think you might find you get more responses if you translate your question to English first, then just paste the translation to the forum. I’ve taken the liberty to use Google translate for you on this...

Absolutely unable to add new XT8 node to existing XT8 network. Any ideas?

Seems not an uncommon problem, I am pretty disappointed in the stories I see regarding ASUS XT8. I see you got it going using the WPS method, so I do not have any further suggestions. If anyone else is still having a problem and is looking at FW, check if this thread will help you any.

XT8 appears as RT-AX95Q instead of ZenWifi AX in web GUI and will not mesh

Hi again, Sorry to bombard you with notes on this router, but I have a little bit of free time at the moment and it's like a little treasure hunt that I just want to solve :) . I was going to buy a pair of XT8's myself at one stage, researched them a lot, but opted for the XD6's instead as I...

    AX88U WiFi Dead

One item I haven’t seen here is whether you have tried another PSU with the same Voltage, Amps Rating (and Polarity). Just borrow one. I’ve seen quite a few folks with a dead PSU miraculously revive their routers. Worth a shot.

XT8 appears as RT-AX95Q instead of ZenWifi AX in web GUI and will not mesh

Ok 👍 So the GH version combo of gnuton FW referred to by that Tuttle guy didn’t work in AImesh mode for you either? Asking in case th older gnuton was older than the oldest Asus now offer or at least different enough to make it work. Yup Maybe try the gnuton combo in AIMesh before going to...

BACKUPMON BACKUPMON v1.8.20 -Oct 12, 2024- Backup/Restore your Router: JFFS + NVRAM + External USB Drive! CIFS/SMB/NFS! (Now available in AMTM!)

Yeah, picked that up a wee while back but seemed churlish given the amazing Addons :-). There is a method to the madness on occasion though, apparently. If you have a number of Addons, some use y/n and some 0/1 so that's a bit confusing sometimes too, but I don't think @thelonelycoder is going...

Assign Device Names in System-Wireless Log specifically for AIMesh Nodes? And change AIMesh Host Name

A while back I got some very good advice from @drinkingbird and @RMerlin regarding how Asus or Asus-merlin source the device name under the system log-wireless log tab. In summary: and So I pretty much removed all the Static IP settings from my devices and let the DHCP Reservations name them...

Alternative to Pastebin and replacing MAC Addresses with xx:xx:xx:xx:xx:xx automatically?

Hi, I have two questions on the subject title, please: Firstly, I need to post router logs occasionally, but for some reason pastebin doesn't like my IP (or maybe my ISP doesn't, I am not sure). Anyway, rather than getting my IP released as suggested, is there a recommended alternative that is...

MerlinAU MerlinAU v1.2.6 - The Ultimate Firmware Auto-Updater (**Thread closed due to age**)

I did that forced update at the time but is there a way to easily see which branch you are now on so you know it ‘stuck’? Preferably from within the menu accessed via amtm?

    It's time to buy RT-BE96U?

I’m not in the market anytime soon but sometime down the line I’d be interested to look at the RT-BE96U as a replacement for my RT-AX86U Pro, which works perfectly well; except for one thing and that is the ability to extend WiFi Guest networks to AIMesh nodes for ALL the Guest Networks, not...

Release Asuswrt-Merlin 3004.388.8_2 is now available

Bit OT sorry, but have you looked at running tailscale on a device attached to your remote network (doesn’t have to be on the router, although that’s what I do, using TAILMON), then have that device running tailscale advertise as a subnet router? You can then VPN in from anywhere. That’s how I...

Release Asuswrt-Merlin 3004.388.8_2 is now available

OK cheers I've generally been using these nvram commands via SSH, as they are sticky, but this was the first time I noticed it changed after a FW update (I might have happened before and I never noticed). Does not work on stock. nvram set led_disable=1 nvram commit service restart_leds

Release Asuswrt-Merlin 3004.388.8_2 is now available

I checked the thread for LED but couldn’t see a response, did anyone else who did a dirty upgrade that normally have the LEDs off in the Admin/System menu, also get their router starting up with the LEDs on and that “disable LEDs” switch toggled to off? No biggie, but not had it happen before...

XT8 appears as RT-AX95Q instead of ZenWifi AX in web GUI and will not mesh

I probably worded it rather poorly but this was actually the very point I was trying to make. With the menus you’ve ended up with, yes, in theory the XT8 could act as the main router to any Asus unit capable of acting as a mesh node. However the theory is simply that the lack of such a menu in...

XT8 appears as RT-AX95Q instead of ZenWifi AX in web GUI and will not mesh

As above, the fact the XT8 unit shows an AIMESH menu suggets it is the main router and the lack of the same menu in the AX95 unit suggests it’s actually the node and does not need that menu? I’m guessing that when you set up the AIMESH node pairing to the main unit, you should never see that...

XT8 appears as RT-AX95Q instead of ZenWifi AX in web GUI and will not mesh

👍 As above I’m not familiar with the XT8s and I don’t know what it looked like originally, but being a Main/Node pair, could it be that the node doesn’t need to show Mesh, just as long as it’s able to be one? i.e. as long as the node shows up under the AIMesh menu in the Main unit, does it...

XT8 appears as RT-AX95Q instead of ZenWifi AX in web GUI and will not mesh

Hmm. It does seem problematic, but thank you for trying it out all the same. You did do a hard reset of both units following FW update, correct? What mode are you using btw? I don’t have XT8s, but it seems that one of the units in the pair is designated as the Router and the other one the...

XT8 appears as RT-AX95Q instead of ZenWifi AX in web GUI and will not mesh

As regards reset, a hard reset is strongly recommended after a change from stock to any alternative FW. I say “alternative” but it’s very much Asus-with-enhancements. As regards mechanism for updating, you should just be able to update over what you have now, using the WebGUI. Worst case, use...

XT8 appears as RT-AX95Q instead of ZenWifi AX in web GUI and will not mesh

Interesting way it identifies itself via two IDs! Asus… If you’re willing to try Merlin, there’s a Gnuton version for the XT8/RT-AX95Q. Maybe that will help get your Mesh, stability (and sanity) back? EDIT; link to the list of gnuton releases.
