Beta Asuswrt-Merlin 386.5 Beta is now available

I just noticed the following event in the log on my RT-AC66U B1 which was dirty flashed from 386.4 to 386.5. It's been working just fine since the update, I just figured it might be worth mentioning only because I couldn't find any other references to nt_monitor crashes when searching the forum...

Beta ASUSWRT 386 RC3-1 public beta

On my RT-AC66U B1, the roaming assistant task crashes when the wifi restarts, regardless if roaming is enabled or disabled: Oct 17 16:39:42 rc_service: httpd 227:notify_rc restart_wireless Oct 17 16:39:42 kernel: roamast/10801: potentially unexpected fatal signal 6. Oct 17 16:39:42 kernel...

    Solved RT-AC68U local dns issue

Probably doesn't matter here, but the home.arpa domain has been specifically reserved for residential networking.

Beta ASUSWRT 386 RC3-1 public beta

After flashing the beta onto my AC66U B1 there's now a separate "Enable IPv4 Firewall" setting, or at least I don't remember it being there before: I didn't reset the router yet as I want to verify that the beta is working fine with a dirty upgrade. I'm just a bit confused by the Enable...

    Release RT-AC86U Version 3.0.0.4.384.82072

It sounds like the firmware has an all or nothing auto update set when compiled, not a "auto update only to important updates": function. I'm just annoyed by the vagueness of the update. "Fixed a remote code execution exploit" covers a lot of ground, ranging from your router being easily hacked...

    [384.18_Alpha Builds] Testing all variants

With 384.18_alpha1-g5f6b535e1a on my RT-AC66U B1, the customized QOS list resets to the default order if you leave the main QOS tab and come back and check the customized list again.

pppoe take forever to reconnect after reboot

Completely different ISP here (Nex-Tech) but I've had this same issue as well. It's a fiber connection using PPPoE, and with every router I've used (RT-N16, WRT54GL, RT-AC66 B1,) reconnecting after a reboot or power cycle can sometimes take a while, with the same messages in the log.

    Port Trigger

World of Tanks and Fortnite don't need port forwarding, either manually set or automatically with upnp, as the clients only make outbound connections.

[Beta] Asuswrt-Merlin 384.16 beta (and 384.13_5) are available

Hmm, just noticed that it seems to have happened at or very close to noon. I'll try uploading something tomorrow at the same time to see if I can replicate it.

[Beta] Asuswrt-Merlin 384.16 beta (and 384.13_5) are available

It was live data, I was looking at the traffic monitor on an Android tablet while uploading a video to Youtube from my desktop. The connection is 50/50M PPPoE and the router had about 2 days of uptime on beta2 at that point. The spike was not recorded on the 24 hour graph. Here's a screenshot I...

[Beta] Asuswrt-Merlin 384.16 beta (and 384.13_5) are available

The traffic monitor spike issue is still present in beta2 on an AC66U_B1.

Wifi traffic with no clients connected

This is on an RT-AC66U_B1 with Merlin 384.15: The traffic monitor shows a very small amount of constant outgoing wifi traffic even with no clients connected, averaging about 0.45 KB/s. I don't have any reason to suspect any problems, I just happened to notice it and was curious if it's normal...

Does Radio Strength output Adjusting in any Asus WiFi Routers really work?

Just checked on my AC66U B1 and it seems to work. I set the 5Ghz radio to the lowest setting, power saving, and the signal at my tablet went down by about 15 db or so.

[Fork] Asuswrt-Merlin 374.43 LTS releases (Archive)

V.32E4 is working, that seems to have fixed it. Thanks!

[Fork] Asuswrt-Merlin 374.43 LTS releases (Archive)

DNSCrypt and DNSSEC are both off. I'll try it again in the morning, get the syslog, and play around with it in more detail when I don't have to worry about being yelled at for killing the internet.

[Fork] Asuswrt-Merlin 374.43 LTS releases (Archive)

I just tried to update from 31E6 to 32E3 on my RT-N16 and was unable to access the internet until I rolled back to 31E6. The internet status on the network map page said connected, but no addresses would resolve. I didn't think to try pinging any IPs directly to see if it was a DNS issue as I...
