    Not an Asus customer, but considering it, if I can get mesh and rtmerlin. If I was to buy these two routers and use one as "satellite", what manages the mesh? I thought rtmerlin doesn't provide it. Is it in the Asus firmware portion or are you just suggesting that I setup both with the same...

    Bandwidth monitoring on Orbi

    When you say network interface do you mean Orbi interface? Most of my devices are WiFi so traffic will be heavily aggregated. Do you at least get a breakdown between devices connected to the router and ones connected to either satellite?

    I’m sure you can do it with iptables. I suggest you look at Aegis which makes it super easy to block unwanted traffic both ways. http://www.snbforums.com/threads/aegis-1-7-x.70761/

    by default the user is root and password the same as the web interface. Setting up the keys is for security and faster login

    If you are using Voxel you should save your configuration file on the external drive and then it restores it after reboot

    So many factors play into a steady connectivity. I read the thread, I think the user will hardly find a satisfactory solution that is not buying a higher speed or changing provider. He clearly says the connectivity is normally stable and reliable , so that’s a good sign he has a decent provider

    Is the person looking for real time or peak over a certain period of time? Have you looked at ntop?

    I have been waiting for usage reporting for a while. I tried a couple of tools from Entware, but didn’t provide what I was looking for. See http://www.snbforums.com/threads/bandwidth-monitoring-on-orbi.63561/page-2 Some suggested Kamoj, but it’s not easily portable to Orbi.
