    R7800 Still a good router?

Today is a busy day at work, not sure I’ll get to it, but I’ll try tomorrow at the latest and let you know. I’ll turn logging on and monitor for a bit

    R7800 Still a good router?

I have been monitoring the progress of Aegis and I have an Orbi with Voxel, but I have been nervous to install it. I installed a couple of scripts that weren’t specific for NG and Orbi and they haven’t worked. I could beta test for you, if you have a few simple steps you can recommend. I also...

    Voxel Custom firmware build for Orbi RBK50/RBK53 (RBR50, RBS50) v. 9.2.5.2.8SF-HW

Have you looked at AirVPN’s OpenVPN upgrades and optimizations for ARM (specifically on the CHACHA implementation)? https://github.com/AirVPN/openvpn3-airvpn

    Voxel Custom firmware build for Orbi RBK50/RBK53 (RBR50, RBS50) v. 9.2.5.2.6SF-HW

You’re probably right, if enabled Dnscrypt settings override the basic system configuration. You could also look if opendns supports dnscrypt or DoH.

    Bandwidth monitoring on Orbi

I was looking for something that tells me the bandwidth for every device. I'm not looking for detailed analytics, but I would like to see live usage (like yours) and aggregated data, maybe daily, weekly, monthly. I am looking to better understand which devices use most bandwidth and if there are...

    Bandwidth monitoring on Orbi

When you installed did you pick OpenWRT as the OS or something else? The base files are installed in /top/www for me (no yamon). If I symlink that directory inside /www (I.e. /www/yamon) it sort of works but I also get the JavaScript error

    Bandwidth monitoring on Orbi

Files and directories permissions look right. I re-ran the setup script for YAMon and it looks like some of the paths are wrong. In essence a few of the js and css I need are created in the wrong path so that's why it doesn't work. They don't support Orbi or any netgear out of the box so I guess...

    Bandwidth monitoring on Orbi

Lol, love the autocorrect of “crontab”!!! I tried fixing it twice but then I was in a rush writing from my phone ;) thank you for the tips as always. Permissions looked right at first glance but I’ll take another look. I was also surprised one level depth would work, but not further.

    Bandwidth monitoring on Orbi

I installed YAMon and it looks like it’s working on the surface but not in practice :( I found at least 2 issues and I’m wondering if others know of workarounds: 1. While the symlinks are created in the Web sever’s directory some files and directories aren’t accessible from the browser; a very...

    Upgrading Busybox

I am wondering if anyone has looked into upgrading the Busybox in their Orbi and with Voxel. I see we're at 1.24.1, while busybox's official release is 1.31.1. TBH I actually have no specific need, but since Voxel brings up to date so many other binaries I was wondering why not this one.

    Voxel Custom firmware build for Orbi RBK50/RBK53 (RBR50, RBS50) v. 9.2.5.2.5SF-HW & v. 9.2.5.2.5.1SF-HW

I don’t think @Voxel is looking for a job and once he was part of the machine he wouldn’t have the flexibility. What would make sense is for Netgear to support him as someone who customizes firmware outside of what are their business drivers and also pick up some of the patches for free on the...

    Bandwidth monitoring on Orbi

Has anyone tried YAMon or luci-wrtbwmon. I’m worried that YAMon will be slow running on bash, but installation seems feasible. I didn’t see big gaps after a quick look. Luci-wrtbwmon needs binaries if I understood correctly

    Orbi 2.6.1.40 out

It looks like firmware 2.6.1.40 is out with some security fixes: https://community.netgear.com/t5/Orbi/RBR50-RBS50-Firmware-Version-2-6-1-40/m-p/1997895#M105941

Orbi Devices Bandwidth Utilization and App Statistics

Sadly you’re not the only one looking for a simple graph to monitor traffic. I haven’t found anything that fit me or that looks like your screenshot. Voxel also supports a number of oss packages, if you know what you would like to install it’s possible

Release New Orbi 50 series Version 2.5.2.4 and 2.7.0.70 Officially Released

Just confirming I understood correctly the steps: 1. You went to stock .70 release 2. had issues, so factory reset 3. all working; updated to Voxel? Doesn't factory reset with Voxel brick the routers?

    Voxel Custom firmware build for Orbi RBK50/RBK53 (RBR50, RBS50) v. 9.2.5.1.33SF-HW & v. 9.2.5.1.34SF-HW

For what it’s worth any time I’ve had an unexpected reboot such as after power outage I always needed to turn everything off, then router on, then one sat, then the other. This takes a little extra time for all clients to adjust and hop on the closest sat, but resolved lag and poor connection. I...

    USB not mounting after reboot

It took a little work and I also got a new external drive, but I was able to mount rhe disk read only, copy everything on new drive and clean the partition. I now reattached rhe drive, rebooted and everything seems fine. Thank you for the tips

    Voxel Custom firmware build for Orbi RBK50/RBK53 (RBR50, RBS50) v. 9.2.5.1.33SF-HW & v. 9.2.5.1.34SF-HW

I have not verified this myself, what I have heard is that if you have a gigabit internet you’re hitting the upper limits of the Orbi so using it in AP likely frees up some resources and gives people better performance. I have gigabit and I hit upper 800Mbit on the Orbi and low 800 from a wired...
