    USB not mounting after reboot

I found the binary on Voxel's entware. I now have two paths, I am borrowing a chromebook and I have the binary for Orbi. Third option would be to find a USB hub with external power that can turn the external drive on, unfortunately the Pi doesn't provide enough juice. It looks like this is the...

    USB not mounting after reboot

That's a good point and I had that fear. I don't have a linux box handy to test, but I found some errors with some more testing. When I plug the USB in I get a bunch of messages about detecting the drive, etc. and at the end it says: JBD2: Invalid checksum recovering block 406323394 in log Inst...

    USB not mounting after reboot

I’ve been running @Voxel firmware for a while now, but today I had a strange issue. My internet went out briefly and when I looked the router had the pulsing white light, then purple briefly and then off. I ssh with a wired computer and while the system was up, all services such as DNS weren’t...

    Netgear speedtest (ookla)

I have a gigabit connection over fiber and have a Speedtest both on the modem and on Orbi. The speedtest on the modem is always a little better than Orbi. The last test I did gave me 846Mbit down and 881 up. I have seen the upload occasionally going around 900, but it seems more of an exception...

Netgear GUI over encryption (ssh) (SOLVED)

I don’t what you’re achieving here. Are you also disabling the standard GUI available via HTTP? If I understand correctly you are setting up a tunnel on your local computer and then connect to localhost, but what is it that you’re trying to hide or avoid? Someone snooping your communication to...

    Voxel firmware and ssh

Using the public private keys is only a convenience and added security to avoid typing your password. You should be able to ssh as root just by typing your password (the one you use for admin in the GUI). Is that working? Is Telnet enabled via the debug page?

    Voxel Custom firmware build for Orbi RBK50/RBK53 (RBR50, RBS50) v. 9.2.5.1.19SF-HW

Does anyone know what Armor_jump is or does? I also changed it to 0 and as soon as I did it I had a better performance (from roughly 200Mbit to 240) from a satellite I know is a little more stressed. After 12 hours the number is now up to 1332815309255 which I have no clue what it means and why...

Show list of connected devices via command line (Orbi)

Not sure if this fully answers your question, but did you see https://community.netgear.com/t5/Orbi/ORBI-RBK50-RBS50-Tips-Tricks-Hidden-Secrets-etc/m-p/1746323/highlight/true#M60920 ?

    Wrong time zone, right time?

This is a funky issue and in fairness I'm not sure if I've had this forever. The other day I was checking the logs in my Orbi with Voxel and noticed the time was wrong. Recently I changed the NTP settings via the Web interface, I set the time zone to Pacific and the server to pool.ntp.org When...

While I am 99% sure I used SCP before I did think of that and thought maybe the recent macOS upgrade removed it for some reason. Laptop:tmp andrea$ scp usage: scp [-346BCpqrTv] [-c cipher] [-F ssh_config] [-i identity_file] [-J destination] [-l limit] [-o ssh_option] [-P port]...

Finally had a minute on my personal laptop to try once more and answer your questions. I am trying to SCP from my computer TO the Orbi. This is what I'm getting: Laptop:tmp andrea$ scp testfile.txt root@192.168.1.1: ash: scp: not found lost connection Interestingly, when I'm connected to the...

I have 1Gb although as reported elsewhere by others I never get the full bandwidth from Orbi, but even on the speed test in the Web UI or from a Mac on ethernet. My benchmark from last night is 200Mbit download on 5G from a non optimal spot. If I remember correctly your context is that a...

I took a benchmark yesterday with the router uptime at 16 days. I'll take another today, then restart and take benchmark again. I do think when you have a fresh start you'll have less devices connected and a less full wireless, but I don't know how much that affects your bandwidth. How many...

I don’t think this is happening to me, but happy to help. Can we agree on a testing standard? Which Orbi do you have (v1 or 2?)? Are you connected to the router or a satellite? Ethernet or wireless backhaul? Are you using Speedtest or something else? I’ll replicate your test as close as...

    The Curious Little Orbi RBR20

That is true of all Orbi. I guess the problem of the product managers is that to get good wireless performance you need a big device and you can’t hide a big device

I was trying to use SCP, but it doesn’t seem to work out of the box in .17 release. I was wondering if I can turn it on or maybe ask for this additional feature in the next release
