Diversion Diversion - the Router Ad-Blocker

I can also confirm that dcd crash occurs only after installing diversion. No dcd crashing with defaults and AI protection enabled. Edit- I turned off AI protection while diversion is still running and DCD crashes have stopped.

    Custom firmware build for R7800 v. 1.0.2.65SF

QOS is broken on R7800. It works only on firmware v1.0.2.52. Downgrade to v1.0.2.52 if you want a working QOS otherwise keep it disabled because it doesn't works.

    Major Issues w/RT-AC86U

Fyi!! Just scroll through the NetDuma forum for XR500 and XR700. The no of people returning these two routers for no VPN client are way more than the people posting the same on Amazon.

    Major Issues w/RT-AC86U

The right person to ask this would be R-Merlin. He has been developing the firmware for the same unit for more than 20 months. I believe he is the right person to ask this question. I went ahead with my purchase just because he recommended Asus RT86U over Asus RT87U.

    Major Issues w/RT-AC86U

I bought it last month and mine running absolutely without any issues. Before buying it, I also read a lot of negative reviews on the Amazon. However, still bought it because it has the best hardware in its price category and VPN performance is the best among all routers.

Has Asus download manager been fixed?

Is the stock Netgear R7800 QoS really this bad?

It's bad that's it. I trashed my R7800 after 6 months of use just because the QOS was pathetic and there was no built in VPN client integration. Now, I am using Asus RT 86U and it's actually working better than XR500 which I borrowed from a friend just prior to purchasing RT86U. Edit: Asus...

[384.11_Alpha - builds] Testing all variants.

I have formatted the usb using the pc before installing the Alpha 3 fw. Then formatted it to ext4 via amtm terminal. The router has been rebooted nearly 10 times since Alpha 3 was installed. I have even tried reformatting the usb to ext 4 using the amtm terminal thrice. However, whenever I...

[384.11_Alpha - builds] Testing all variants.

Is swap file not compatible with Alpha 3 firmware? I have configured it thrice by the amtm terminal but RT 86u fails to detect it.

[Preview] Asuswrt-Merlin 384.11 with DNS over TLS

As stated earlier in other post, my ISP is using transparent ISP proxy server and in order to bypass that i was using the stubby script via AMTM terminal. Now, with this Alpha build i aspire to achieve the same thing (i.e. bypassing my ISP transparent proxy server) and route all the traffic to...

[Preview] Asuswrt-Merlin 384.11 with DNS over TLS

One more question. Can I use both Google and cloudflare as DNS resolvers for DOT or should I stick with only one resolver?

Hard reset doesn't erase the jffs?

[Preview] Asuswrt-Merlin 384.11 with DNS over TLS

Unmounted USB and formatted it to FAT32, then hard reset the router before installing the Alpha build. Again hard reset the router after the Alpha build was installed. Internet works only till I enable DOT.

[Preview] Asuswrt-Merlin 384.11 with DNS over TLS

I have formatted the usb and started from the scratch. Unmounted USB then formatted it to FAT32. Hard reset the router and then installed the Alpha build 3. Then again hard rest the router after installing the Alpha build. Everything works fine till I enable DNS over TLS.

[Preview] Asuswrt-Merlin 384.11 with DNS over TLS

Can anybody please suggest me what settings should I enable to use Stubby and bypass my ISP transparent DNS proxy server . Earlier I was using the Stubby script without changing the default DNS server and the script was able to bypass the ISP Proxy server. However, this alpha build...

ExpressVPN setup (app vs. manual configuration) in Asus routers

I can confirm that HW acceleration has no role to play with VPN performance. I am using QOS with VPN and still getting almost same internet speed as without VPN.

ExpressVPN setup (app vs. manual configuration) in Asus routers

I am using nordvpn and I get roughly same speed as if without VPN. To be specific, without VPN I get around 85-90 Mbps and with VPN turned on I get around 80-85 Mbps. The settings I use depends upon the server specific OVPN configuration file that you have to download from the expressvpn site...
