    Custom firmware build for R7800 v. 1.0.2.75.1SF & v. 1.0.2.75.2SF

Okay... I purchased a new R7800 and am trying to maneuver into Entware for the first time. It's been a while since I fiddled with Linux. Following Voxels readme, so far I have 1) Generated Dropbear Key in Appendix A. I have not backed up to my USB Drive because I have not "mounted" it yet...

At the same pricepoint - Netgear X10 R9000 or RT-AX88U?

Just curious... If I did go the RT-AX88U Route, is the AI Mesh system fully working with the AX routers? I hear great reviews with AI Mesh versus Netgears Extenders. I'd like to buy an extender and utilize it considering I do have one extender in my house. Any Asus extenders in particular...

At the same pricepoint - Netgear X10 R9000 or RT-AX88U?

It’s interesting I saw those dips you were talking about in the snb reviews. Was honestly the one thing that was holding me back. I figured it could be fixed with future firmware maybe... Verizon ONT doesn’t have nbase T unfortunately. I think the theoretical max is like 940/880ish or something...

At the same pricepoint - Netgear X10 R9000 or RT-AX88U?

Spent a week doing tons of research on up to date wireless routers. I've concluded to myself I may not be contempt with the current state of Wireless AX draft standard, so spending an arm and a leg doesn't interest me. This is why I picked the AX88U as an alternative option due to the sweet...

    Custom firmware build for R7800 v. 1.0.2.75.1SF & v. 1.0.2.75.2SF

It is a hardware problem, specifically NVRAM going bad. Considering there is no CMOS battery inside, it's not even an option to replace battery. Approx 13 months ago my R7800 had the same problem. There was another post on SNBFORUMS / Netgear regarding it and others had the same issue. After...

RT-AX88U Beta Firmware posted. Supports WPA3 and OFDMA

I find it interesting how GT-AX11000 OFDMA official firmware isn't in beta (or never even hit beta), but the AX88U is still in beta. This kind of stinks for AX88U considering OFDMA firmware hasn't seem to got one update since its beta release, but each regular firmware update for the AX11000...

Wireless Router - stay with Netgear or Change? Defects are an issue

Thanks. I really do want to stay with Netgear, but I am eyeing the Asus too... From what I read, the RAX80 is Broadcom based, the RAX120 is Qualcomm based. I don't think I'd ever get a Broadcom based router again, at least not from Netgear. I guess I'll see what happens. Thanks for the input!

Wireless Router - stay with Netgear or Change? Defects are an issue

I've been a Netgear exclusive user in my home for over 6 years. I started with the Netgear Nighthawk R7000. Upgraded to the R7800 due to certain feature upgrades. After almost a year, the R7800 lost configuration (factory reset) after every reboot. Ended up RMA'ing this device. Figured I...

    Custom firmware build for R9000 v. 1.0.4.31HF & 1.0.4.31.1HF

I was in the same predicament. If it is possible, you'd probably be the first person to attempt. Other issue is: Plex Server has become so outdated at a fast pace on the routers and Netgear isn't providing timely updates. FWIW in case you're curious, I ended up doing the following (been doing...

    Custom firmware build for R9000 v. 1.0.4.31HF & 1.0.4.31.1HF

Thank you Voxel! :) Does this build incorporate the "HW" acceleration and is no longer separate? Enjoy the Vacation!!

    Extremely slow RAX12 wireless speeds

For testing sakes, are you testing several feet away from the router? Just for testing sakes... Are you using smart connect, or separating your 2.4 and 5 GHZ bands? I've seen Smart Connect throw devices on 2.4 randomly without people knowing. Do you have QoS turned off? I haven't seen the...

    Custom firmware build for R9000 v. 1.0.4.29HF/1.0.4.29HF-HW

Ahh, Did not know this. Good to be reassured. Thank you Voxel!

    Custom firmware build for R9000 v. 1.0.4.29HF/1.0.4.29HF-HW

Not looking to cause waves, but just throwing a fair warning out there. Firmware 1.0.4.28 could potentially brick the R9000. Netgear is looking into it as of 3/21/19 according to this post...

    Custom firmware build for R7800 v. 1.0.2.64SF

You are correct. On the official Netgear Forums, people are complaining since upgrading to .62

    Custom firmware build for R7800 v. 1.0.2.64SF

I told the tech on phone each time the router reboots, it loses its config. Did some basic troubleshooting, but never gave me a problem in the end. I would call back again, some reps are just not knowledgeable. Here are the 3 options attached in picture. I chose the Basic Swap Exchange...

    Custom firmware build for R7800 v. 1.0.2.64SF

Ouch, add me to the tally. I also had this happen to me this past Tuesday night 3/19. Router crapped out and reset to Factory Defaults/factory SSID's. I re-set up all my settings, rebooted router, and it got wiped to Factory Defaults again. Tried a 3rd time, but this time only changed the...

Voxel Custom firmware build for R7800 v. 1.0.2.62SF

I just tried this just now and rebooted router and printer. It did not. I see a bunch of other SSID's except mine. Thank you for the suggestion though!

Voxel Custom firmware build for R7800 v. 1.0.2.62SF

Thanks!! On a side note, figured I'd inquire... I have very little knowledge on how 11k works, but as far as I understand it relates to roaming and handoffs? So technically since I don't have multiple AP's with the same SSID, it shouldn't really affect me right? It would more likely affect...

    Netgear X4S R7800 - Did I hit a CPU Bottleneck?

You may be on to something... Lots of smaller connections I do not. I figured it's just about useless considering I have Gig Fiber

Voxel Custom firmware build for R7800 v. 1.0.2.62SF

Running latest .62 Voxel Firmware. Running into an extremely odd issue (not sure if It's voxel related or not as I haven't ran stock in a long time). My Canon Laser Multi-Function AIO sometimes loses connection to the R7800's 2.4G network and doesn't see it anymore and it's right next to it...
