    I have spaces in my network passwords. I know it was an issue in the past but thought that was history. If I have to change them then I will but would rather not.

    My comment was in reply to a post about another pair of essentially identical routers. I believe RMerlin's reply was specifically about the RT-AX86U and RT-AX86S routers.

    From what I've read, the hardware of the RT-AC68U and RT-AC66U_B1 are essentially the same.

    After seeing absolutely no evidence of 3.0.0.4.386.48377 on the Asus website today and a lot of odd messages in the log, I fell back to 3.0.0.4.386_46061 out of an abundance of caution and turned off auto-update for now. I don't know that it was necessary but don't see what it could hurt either...

    My router was set to auto-update, which it did without me even being aware. It's been running 3.0.0.4.386_48377 fine for over 19 hours now.

    Upgrade from AC68U

    I upgraded from a RT-AC66U and I have yet to load Merlin. But yeah the UI is snappy and it's the first router I've owned that provided 5Ghz coverage of my entire home.

    I got mine for $229.99 new at Microcenter but guess I was lucky as they're going for $269.99 say Microcenter now.

    From my history with documentation, I'd say the right way for Asus to handle it would be documentation in the box pointing to online resources that can be added to, corrected and updated as needed. I don't believe that it's realistic to keep up to date printed technical documentation for all...

    Doesn't look like I had that paper in my box. I bought mine right at the end of 2021. Either way, it looks to be documented on the Asus web site. I haven't experienced any noticeable compatibility issues.

    When I used to have a docking station, I had a small task tray app that I'd configured with profiles, including turning off Wi-Fi on my laptop when I docked my laptop and wired Ethernet was available.     I just ran the check again on my RT-AX86U and the signature version now shows: "2.290 Updated : 2022/04/01 09:40"

    You're right. I didn't realize that button was there. The update check failed so presumably there isn't an update available. Mine says "2.284 Updated : 2022/03/11 03:39".

    Just FYI I've been running the latest official RT-AX86U firmware since it was released with nearly all my devices on 5Ghz and no noticable disconnects.
