    AX86U sighting

Hah. Well. I always ran 3rd party firmware on my routers which probably helped. Been doing that since the Linksys WRT54G days. Maybe even before that. So running stock firmware like I am now is very unusual for me. My local Microcenter is down to one RT-AX86U in stock. There were 7 just a few...

    AX86U sighting

Sounds like the AC86U is a winner of you get a good one. I also had an N66U before the AC66U. It was pretty solid and hooked me on Asus routers.

    AX86U sighting

I skipped the AC86U and at this point seemed like the AX86U was the way to go. I'm basically very cheap and historically haven't had huge requirements from a router. So I ran an AC66U for many years then started looking at upgrades when the power button broke. I taped it down with some 100 MPH...

    AX86U sighting

I'd been lurking here lately looking for tips on a new router. Haven't been here for a while. So based on that I bought a RT-AX86U at Microcenter a few days ago for $249.99 + tax. Looks like I can get $20 + tax back now that it's on sale. Glad I didn't wait too long as it looks like their stock...

have any body heard of this model. Asus RT-AC68A

Agreed. As I understand it, the page represented out as full featured. But I don't have an archive of the pre-order page to check.

have any body heard of this model. Asus RT-AC68A

It is confusing because, as far as I know, there's only one sales page but folks are being shipped products with different capabilities.

have any body heard of this model. Asus RT-AC68A

Yeah, well I searched for threads with. RT-AC68A in the title and didn't find any. Can't read every post before starting a new thread. I tried...

have any body heard of this model. Asus RT-AC68A

Thanks. Yeah, that could be. Just don't want to assume anything. If it's just an Amazon branded version of the same router that's already out there, then why the delay in release? Thought someone here might know the skinny, have an inside track... [emoji6]

have any body heard of this model. Asus RT-AC68A

Proof or speculation? I googled it and found no definitive information.

Best AC router in terms of stable open firmware?

I know you're right. That's why I'm using an RT-AC66R as my main router. I know that's not the latest greatest, but it's better than the WRT54G! And it works for my needs.

Best AC router in terms of stable open firmware?

Don't rain on my nostalgic parade! I actually don't use then for much, but they come in handy from time to time. One of my son's needed a router last year. It was a temporary college situation. So he wanted something cheap and expendable, because well you know college kids. So grabbed a...

Best AC router in terms of stable open firmware?

I'm surprised as well. But now I don't feel quite as bad that I still have some of them! [emoji6]

Guessing it's working well enough for him so didn't need any more help?

    ASUS RT-AC3100 flipping out

FYI, for future reference... The spoiler tag does a good job of hiding material until you want to see it. And works with tapatalk.

    WiFi Problem with Merlin?

The right channel makes a huge difference, and auto channel has never worked well for me. I've only found the best channel by trial and error, testing the results.

    RT-AC88U wireless coverage issues?

My bad, was thinking you were using the router tools. Shoulda read more carefully. Got nothin.

    RT-AC88U wireless coverage issues?

Could just be as simple as the method used to plot the graph. Merlin might know better. Sent from my SCH-I535 using Tapatalk
