    New error message on AX-88U

Hah!! Just checked the status after about 30 minutes.... The error message re-appears! So I just reset the control channel to AUTO. The channel was changed by the router to 13 and the message disappeared again. Will still see where we are tomorrow morning.

    New error message on AX-88U

Thanks! Interesting to learn something new! I have tried to understand the settings where your and mine differs. Seems like your are more suitable for me so I changed mine to match yours. I have been running like this with control channel set to AUTO most of the day without the error message...

    New error message on AX-88U

In the morning the annoying message was there again. So I reset to AUTO, and the selected channel is now 8. Will wait until this afternoon before doing anything else.

    New error message on AX-88U

Interesting thanks!! Just came back from a late movie and checked the status. The eth6 message hasn't reappeared. So I manually set channel 3 for the 2.4 GHz band. Will see tomorrow if something has happened during the night. Interestingly the channel selected by the AUTO setting was 5 this...

    New error message on AX-88U

No further messages yet, so I followed your instructions for the 5 GHz band as well. Will wait until tonight to see what has happened. If all is OK then, I will set the 2.4 GHz channel manually and wait until tomorrow morning for the result. The upgrade path was Merlin .17, then .18 and...

    New error message on AX-88U

The whole night went through without the message. Changed control channel to 3. After 45 minutes, the message reappeared. Changed back to AUTO, and the message disappeared again. No other changes done. Could of course be due to people moving around in the house

    New error message on AX-88U

Thanks Maziah! Started by changing the 2.4 GHz band settings only. After about 35 minutes, the message has still not re-appeared. I'll wait until tomorrow morning (right now it is 1 AM so time to go to bed....) to see if it still works then. Question 1: If the error message goes away by...

    New error message on AX-88U

Thanks!! Yes, I also suspected something non-Merlin. But it seems to be related to the JFFS partition. Screenshots posted (see below) Disabled the 2.4 GHz band Disabled Skynet, removed Scribe, uiscribe Rebooted After 15 minutes without the error message, I enabled the 2.4 GHz band. After...

    AX-88U disconnecting from ISP

Hi Octopus, no, I don't have any aimesh nodes. The AX88U is the main router, an AC87U is an AP at the other end of the house and finally an old Belkin 1900 router also as AP in another spot to cover the whole house. Like a triangle. The roaming between the nodes works fine. In order to get it...

    New error message on AX-88U

I have tried both "Normal" and "Continuous" - I get the same error message. Still no disconnect though. I have a USB stick formatted as EXT4 in the port on the backside with a 2 GB swap file needed for scribe / Skynet. Nothing in the front slot.

    New error message on AX-88U

Everything now seems to be working apart from an annoying message once every second in the log file: "Aug 30 07:27:19 RT-AX88U-A8B8 acsd: acs_update_oper_mode(290): eth6 read oper_mode failed with -22" eth6 is as far as I understand the 2.4 GHz band. However this still seems to work fine. What...

    AX-88U disconnecting from ISP

Just performed the activities exactly as described above by John. Aggressiveness is set to "Normal". It seemed to work at first. However after a couple of minutes the same error message re-appeared: "Aug 30 07:22:05 RT-AX88U-A8B8 acsd: acs_update_oper_mode(290): eth6 read oper_mode failed with...

    AX-88U disconnecting from ISP

OK understand thanks! Will do it in a few days when the rest of my family is not affected..... Will need to go up early around 5 AM to have enough time if needed. Will wait & see if the DHCP disconnect happens again first. Also, I usually want to understand what I'm doing. I have a suspicion...

    AX-88U disconnecting from ISP

Thanks both!! Seems like I may have two separate problems. Are the DHCP disconnection and the error message that occurs every second unrelated? The error message doesn't seem to affect performance, CPU usage or RAM. It also doesn't seem to affect operations in any way. So I changed the DHCP...

    AX-88U disconnecting from ISP

I have the latest Merlin FW 384.19 installed on the router. Since the update; I have started to get occasional disconnections from my ISP. The router loses contact with my ISP (Bahnhof) and reports that the ISPs DHCP isn't working correctly. Rebooting the router seems to resolve the problem -...

AX88U wifi speed on upper band

Very good answer Colin thanks!! So just by selecting "auto" on the router will not provide me with the best possible wifi speed. I need to understand the table and select band carefully.

    RT-AX88U Cooling Direction

Why not just put it on the wall until you have a fan? My AX88U is running at 70C (CPU) / 50C (radios) but my environment is about 22C.

    RT-AX88U Cooling Direction

I noticed that my AC87U ran hot. So I put it on the wall instead of on a table top. This made the temperatures drop about 10 degrees C (about 18 degrees F if I remember correctly). This should improve the wifi range as well. When I got my AX88U I also put it on the wall ;-)

AX88U wifi speed on upper band

My Samsung S10e connects to my AC87U AP with a download speed of about 300 mbps 10 meters (30 feet) away through a wooden wall. Which is quite OK. On my AX88U router on the upper band (channel 140) it connects with a download speed about 130 mbps 1 meter (3 feet) away without anything between...
