[Beta] Asuswrt-Merlin 380.64 Beta is now available

I have a RT-68U rev B and loaded the Beta1. It loaded without issue and seems to be working great. I enabled Traditional QoS and saw one oddity. CPU 1 and 2 stay above 60% and are mostly above 90%. So I turned off QoS and the load didn't change, so I rebooted. It still is showing very high CPU...

[Beta] Asuswrt-Merlin 380.63 Beta is now available

Are we recommending to flash to defaults if coming from 380.62_1 on a RT-AC68U-B1?

    Help With Custom Scripts

No when you use putty to ssh into the router you are put in a shell(kind of like a command prompt in Windows) and from there you can execute the built in editor nano or vi.

    SIP Helper

I use it for VOIP.ms and it works great.

Updated my AC68U from 380.61 to 380.62 (no reset to defaults) and it's working great. Thanks RMerlin!

[Release] Asuswrt-Merlin 380.61 is now available

Have you tried something like.. 1) Backing up nvram and settings using John's scripts 2) restoring factor defaults 3) flashing to 380.61 again 4) restoring factory defaults 5) restoring nvram and settings using John's scripts? 6) reboot and enjoy I had some crazy weird stuff happening on my...

[Alpha] Preview builds for Asuswrt-Merlin 380.61

Please forgive my "noobness". I'm a little confused on versioning. 380.60 is in beta 2 and 380.61 is in alpha. Are you dropping the 380.60 release and moving to 380.61 instead?

Is this an ok upgrade method for 380.58 -> 380.60 beta 2 ?

The steps I did above are so easy I would always do them. It's not worth the risk of time and effort IMHO to skip them and save a whole 5 minutes tops.

[Beta] Asuswrt-Merlin 380.60 Beta is now available

So only models newer than the RT-AC87U are going to get LAG support? Or is this more that they just don't have it yet, but should have it a little later?

    Telnet from outside (wan/internet)

Honest question: I'm curious why you would pick telnet over ssh. Is there something telnet provides that ssh does not?

Is this an ok upgrade method for 380.58 -> 380.60 beta 2 ?

I'm running Merlin 380.58 on a RT-AC68U and want to give 380.60 Beta 2 a try. Do these steps look ok for my upgrade? 1) Run John's awesome nvram backup with -m 2) reset to defaults 3) reboot 4) flash 380.60 beta 2 5) reset to defaults 6) reboot 7) Run John's nvram restore script created in...

Is Merlin allowed to do this?

Can you give more detail? Like why do you think he might be prohibited from doing it?

    User NVRAM Save/Restore Utility (R26.2)

@john9527 , Just used your backup/restore on a RT-AC68U running Merlin 380.58 and it was awesome. 1) Restore defaults 2) nvram-save.sh -M 3) reload firmware 4) restore defaults 5) use created restore script from step 1.. I can't recommend those steps enough to anyone having weird stability...

    SIP Passthrough

It would probably help if I actually said the right version I was on.. 380.58 not 380.59. On mine I see "Enable SIP NAT Helper" user NAT pass thru.. and it's options are "Enable or Disabled"

    SIP Passthrough

I have a RT-68U on RMerlin's 380.59 .. I don;t see the SIP passthru, only the SIP NAT helper. Where do you guys see the SIP Passtru option?

Comparison between RT-AC68U with HGGOMES & Merlin and EnGenius ECB1750

It would be interesting if you swapped the hardware the two firmwares were running on to eliminate hardware quality variations.

    Development musings

I'm glad you decided to do some "thinking out loud". It's interesting to hear what goes on behind the scenes and some of what burns you out. I bought my RT-68U partly because of your awesome firmware.. so many thanks.

Merlin 380.59 Wireless Log not showing IP and Name for HP printer

I couldn't find where to disable bootp.. but I disabled Bonjour, SNMP, WINS, SLP, LPD, Port 9100 tcp printing, LLMNR, Microsoft Web Services, Syslog, DHCPV4(BOOTP?) and/or DHCPV6, HP Wireless Direct, and AirPrint. I disabled everything that was disable-able. Still the moment I changed the ip...
