With telnet removed how do I SSH on a Mac?

    - Yes, you need to enter your router's password associated with the account you are using (i.e. admin). Also, *if* you enabled key-based authentication for SSH in the router, you will need to login to UI and copy the new key. Once you do that, go to your home directory on the mac and type "nano...

With telnet removed how do I SSH on a Mac?

Just delete the host key 1. You should be able to login using SSH just fine.

    New router for GB line?

I found that I wasn’t able to get full speed until I replaced my ASUS RT-AC88U with a small pfSense box and switched my WR to AP mode. Have been running happily since!

Skynet Skynet - Router Firewall & Security Enhancements

I think you are referring to the URLs shown in the report. Those are not the addresses being blocked! The IP at the end of the URL is what is being actually blocked.

    RT-1900P (Stock FW or RMerlin's???)

FW updates simply provides notification of available update being on the server. This is true for stock and Merlin’s firmware.

Serious problem with 2.4ghz and recent firmware versions?

Another thing I would try is to reset the router and load stock firmware to see if the issue persists. This way you will know for sure if it is caused by hardware or environment rather than Merlin’s firmware.

Serious problem with 2.4ghz and recent firmware versions?

Neah, maybe it is disabled in Merlin’s implementation or it might be called something else like “beam forming”. I do not have access to my router at the moment, and therefore can’t check.

Serious problem with 2.4ghz and recent firmware versions?

It may be a stupid question, but have you tried disabling AiRadar under professional features in the UI? If not, then it is worth a try.

Serious problem with 2.4ghz and recent firmware versions?

BTW, this issue is not specific to ASUS devices - it also happens on G1100 from Fios (albeit on 5Ghz band for me!)

Serious problem with 2.4ghz and recent firmware versions?

I’ve had a similar issue. It turned out to be related to router not being able to find a channel to use due to local band congestion. Try setting the channel for 2.4Ghz manually. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Can you cat the actual script in jffs/scripts?

Access Point USB printing N66U AP

If your N66 is setup as an AP properly, you wouldn’t see two different IP ranges. AP mode disables the built in DHCP server and simply passes your IP lease request to the main router. Do a complete reset of N66 then configure it as an AP!

I have a dude using Asus merlin

There is very little to explain - it appears to be a phone connected to the network. Has nothing to do with ASUS or custom Merlin firmware. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Clear your browser cache and try again. This usually happens when you do a major upgrade. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Two ISP's

Install Merlin’s firmware. On WAN tab enable dual wan configuration and select port to be used for connection from a drop down. You will need to reboot the router for this change to become effective. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

AC68 - Phone WiFi presence detect

Get yourself a Fing box. Available on Amazon (I think). It will alert you whenever any specific selected device connects or leaves your network. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Suggestions for running Cat5e/Cat6 to rooms in a new house

I recently redone my network. I used cat7 shielded copper. I know it is an overkill, but the price difference between 100’ terminated cables from Amazon is about $5 per cable. The cost to pull the cable is the same irrelevant of the type you use. Run a single wire and a snake (nylon pull cord)...

    Two ISP's

I used my ASUS-Merlin router with dual ISP in the failover mode for over 2 years. No issues whatsoever. Give it a try before resorting to more drastic measures. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
