    Client List Interfaces Wrong....?

 Good point. Okay, my takeaway is: I will not get much information from the client list, beyond the fact that the clients are connected, which is fine. Interesting that some wireless clients are not reporting correctly even on the main router. An observation: the router and clients are...

    Client List Interfaces Wrong....?

I'm sorry! Still stuck in my AiMesh head! The RT-AC68U is an access point, and the RT-AC66U_B1 is a repeater. Sorry. I think you have cleared up my confusion-- I never was brave enough to try AP/Repeater set up until I experimented with mesh, so didn't know that's how it works. Can I ask: it...

    Client List Interfaces Wrong....?

Just recently came back to Merlin after an AiMesh experiment. Everything is running smoothly, but I notice that my client list is displaying inaccurate interface information. Many clients are displayed as ethernet, when they are WIFI, many 5ghz WIFI clients show up as ethernet, or 2ghz. I...

    The rmerlin donation thread.

Spent a couple of months running AiMesh. Results were so unpredictable (in spite of real effort by Asus) that I switched everything back to repeater/access point, just so I could install Merlin again. Off to make my donation!

[Release] FreshJR Adaptive QOS (Improvements / Custom Rules / and Inner workings)

Hello all! I have a quick question. I'm going back to Merlin firmware on my router setup-- I have rt-ac86U as the router, rt-ac68U as an access point, and one as a repeater. Do I need to install the script on all three routers, or just the main router? I can't seem to find the answer. THANK you.

    QoS Mysteries

Somehow my voice quality is still fuzzy. Could you clarify the above settings for me? Are they the same as mine, posted below? Thank you! At the moment these are my settings:

    QoS Mysteries

Hi! I went into detail about this on another thread, but basically I was finding that my VOIP calls, either the ATA's (Obi202 and two Obi1062 phones) or internet calling, would regularly come through with choppy or strange audio. I went on a long journey starting last May to make my internet...

    QoS Mysteries

Sorry! I should have said "DSLReports" speedtest! I have cable internet. I will correct original post. I am running the latest (32799) firmware, but doing all my tests on a wired connection, wired backhaul, which should (in theory) be stable. I realize that I might seem to be beating a dead...

    QoS Mysteries

I have a question, if anybody following this thread has some time. I recently updated firmware on my AiMesh system, and reinstalled the script, which got me checking bufferbloat again. Frustrated by my difficulty getting good bufferbloat scores I tried lowering my download bandwidth to 275mpbs...

[Release] FreshJR Adaptive QOS (Improvements / Custom Rules / and Inner workings)

Okay, I will keep it high. Visitors will be happy! The reboot issue: many users with RT-AC86U report that scheduled reboots don't work consistently. Every couple-few days the router powers off instead of rebooting, and only a manual power cycle brings the router back online. Essentially you...

[Release] FreshJR Adaptive QOS (Improvements / Custom Rules / and Inner workings)

Also, this has been answered by others, on a different thread, but I just want to confirm: is this the recommended order even if nobody in my house EVER does any kind of gaming? My impulse is to move "Gaming" to the bottom of the list, and I don't quite understand why I should keep it high...?

[Release] FreshJR Adaptive QOS (Improvements / Custom Rules / and Inner workings)

I recently upgraded the firmware on my AiMesh router and nodes, and haven't yet gotten around to re-installing the script. I have discovered in the intervening week that my RT-AC86U router, which was regularly going offline, is not going offline any more. I THEN discovered that there is a known...

    ASUS RT-AC86U Firmware version RT-AC86U_3.0.0.4.384.32797

You guys work very hard! It's appreciated.

    ASUS RT-AC86U firmware release 3.0.0.4.384_32799

@arthurlien, I have updated the firmware on both nodes, and reset and re-added the nodes as suggested. That process went very smoothly-- the GUI seems improved, and helped me with resetting the nodes, thanks for that! However, the speed issues that @OzarkEdge first reported still remain. To...

    ASUS RT-AC86U firmware release 3.0.0.4.384_32799

Perfect. That will be my plan. Thank you.

    ASUS RT-AC86U firmware release 3.0.0.4.384_32799

Okay, I will! Could one of the experts on this thread confirm the process for me? My plan is to manually upgrade through the GUI. Then do I need to reset all THREE routers (the main router and both nodes) or can I get away with just doing a reset/re-add of the nodes....? Thanks! (I reset all...

    ASUS RT-AC86U Firmware version RT-AC86U_3.0.0.4.384.32797

I have observed exactly the same thing, detailed on my post on the thread about the 32799 firmware. 1/2 speed for wireless client on wireless node, full speed for wired client on wireless node. I was testing 5GHz band only. Channel 153.

    AiMesh Best Settings RT-AC86U 09-2018

If folks are reading this thread for suggestions about "best practice", I thought I should clarify: I disabled roaming assistant on the 2.4GHz network because my 5.0 GHz devices were sticking to 2.4GHz, but ALSO my elderly father-in-law lives downstairs, and I didn't want his huge number of...

    AiMesh Best Settings RT-AC86U 09-2018

I assume you mean do NOT support band steering. Which would explain why I couldn't get my clients to jump to the better band!! ;) Since all of the clients I care about use 5.0, and since 5.0 is working well all over our house now, I declare myself happy with my 1/4 mesh! Thank you.

    AiMesh Best Settings RT-AC86U 09-2018

Hi! I have been running AiMesh happily since some time this summer. For the most part very stable, and I appreciate the improved performance around my house, as well as the simplicity of management. I like robust internet, but really don't like to tinker. Not educated enough, and not enough...
