OVPN Server and no remote access to local network (except to router GUI)

Good to know - thank you. I can not connect to devices with different OS (e.g.: Seagate Linux NAS, WD Linux NAS, Mac OS) and don't use any Windows devices - anyway firewalls need checking.

OVPN Server and no remote access to local network (except to router GUI)

I am using the OpenVPN server #1 and I can access the router GUI so that is working fine -but with no access to all the other local network devices.

OVPN Server and no remote access to local network (except to router GUI)

Thanks for taking time to look at this. All five blocked devices are intentionally blocked via Parental Controls > Time Scheduling (these are home automation devices from Chinese brands such as Koogeek and Meross that need to be on the main network to connect to HomeKit, but I don't want to...

OVPN Server and no remote access to local network (except to router GUI)

I do have a USB drive connected for swap and scripts (Diversion). The last two upgrades were dirty, and I forgot to disconnect the USB drive when updating to 386.7. I'm thinking time for a fresh Merlin install including wiping the USB drive.

I am able to ssh into the router. Various dumps to follow where XX.XX.XXX.XX replaces my IP address.

OVPN Server and no remote access to local network (except to router GUI)

Thanks for the reply. All OpenVPN clients are stopped. All entries in VPN Director are deleted. I still have the access problems to all local network devices (except router GUI is working fine). This is what I see when I remotely ping: MacBookPro2020:~ $ ping 192.168.50.21 PING...

OVPN Server and no remote access to local network (except to router GUI)

I used to be able to connect remotely into my home router VPN Server and access router GUI and network devices on the LAN DHCP Server (NAS, Mac). e.g.: this was my post https://www.snbforums.com/threads/vpn-instructions-for-a-newbie.59478/post-670584 Unfortunately in my current setup running...

Release Asuswrt-Merlin 386.7 is now available for all models

Dirty flashed an RT-AX86U from 386.5_2 to 386.7. Forgot to remove USB stick (swap file + Diversion + Disk check script). All good after 15 minutes of use. Thanks RMerlin!

Upgrading from my trusty old RT-AC66U to the new RT-AX86U today. What can I transfer from the old router to the new one?

it must be enabled by default: I didn't change any wireless settings in my AX86U

Upgrading from my trusty old RT-AC66U to the new RT-AX86U today. What can I transfer from the old router to the new one?

It is faster to do fresh install of settings on an AX86U than an AC66U_B1: the router reboots faster Note the 5G radio boots up much slower than the 2.4G radio on the AX86U - so do the fresh install via 2.4G or LAN.

    Solved 386.5 AX58U: DNS-over-TLS keeps disabling itself

I haven't seen your issue happen on my AX86U. This may not be intuitive: but if you have set up servers in the DNS-over-TLS Server List (?), you could try leaving DNS Server 1 and DNS Server 2 fields blank (see this thread). I would also try not having both Google and Cloudflare - try only...

Tutorial How to monitor DNS traffic in real-time

This script is very helpful. Wondering if a Asuswrt-Merlin AddOn version of this script with a web UI tab might be possible some time in the future?
