Apple Time Capsule after 6 years

Probably old news, but anyway.. I had a chance to get NOS Apple Time Capsule (AC version) basically for free few months ago, so I put it to the test, how it's going 6 years after release. I have about 20 Apple devices on network (iMacs, Macbooks/Pros, iPads, iPhones, Apple TV) and some guest...

    Netgear R7800 and LEDE/OpenWRT

Hardware NAT is not a big problem, R7800 CPU (QCA IPQ8065 platform, 1,7 Ghz) is among the fastest in consumer routers (and still is after 2+ years!), wireless performance and stability is.. ath10k was/is poor neighbour (and is using binary proprietary blobs from QCA) compared to closed source...

    Netgear R7800 and LEDE/OpenWRT

What's the stability of the current ath10k (open source WiFi AC driver) in latest OpenWRT? I remember that wasn't very good compared to closed source QCA driver (which is used in stock firmware) in not so distant past.. been there, done that :-) I hear that even LEDs for WiFi are working now...

    R7800 change region

I didn't want to mention it here :-) but google should help.. it's not permanently locked like on newer Broadcom routers..

    R7800 change region

It's probably an US model, which is locked (as required by FCC).. mine (EU model) allows region selection in Netgear GUI.. but previous comments about power/channels and legality still apply.

Better News About WPA3 Device Support

That's the way I have my LG OLED TV installed :-) connected to Apple TV, had nVidia Shield for testing, too many issues (correct framerate without skipping, bad upscaling quality compared to Sigma hw chipset like Popcorn or Dune network players, Apple TV has issues too, but is definitely closer...

Better News About WPA3 Device Support

The problem is, Smart TV crap is everywhere.. find me an OLED TV without all this sw crap (full of security bugs and slow), but with quality picture scaler (at least on Sony A1 level) and SMB client for playback (with good MKV implementation) and that would be winner for many people!

2.5/5 GBps USB Ethernet Adapter Announced

Apple Thunderbolt 2 to Gigabit Ethernet adapter has definitely lower CPU usage (and better throughput) on MacOS X than any USB 3.x Gigabit Ethernet adapter (AFAIK it uses Broadcom chip)..

Apple Exits The Wi-Fi Router Biz

The only router with really functional and reliable Time Machine protocol support and of course supported by Apple (I know, AFP only, but you could depend on its backups.. which can't be said with various opensource/linux clones).

    RT-AC3100 VPN Samba

That's what I thought.. but thanks anyway!

    RT-AC3100 VPN Samba

Hallo, long time reader here with first post :-) I have RT-AC3100 router with latest original Asus FW, everything works perfectly - I'm using built-in IPSec VPN (btw, strongswan ike1 with shared secret), but Asus Samba server blocks access from VPN subnet (10.0.0.x) as seen in logs, in smb.conf...
