Release ASUS ZenWiFi XT8 Firmware version 3.0.0.4.386.48706 (2022/05/03)

Thanks everyone for the feedback and advice. On my side, the system has been up for 72 hours now and not a glitch, so very encouraging. The only minor niggling down, is what might not be working that I have no visibility of. But honestly the pain of recreating the entire mesh (especially given...

Release ASUS ZenWiFi XT8 Firmware version 3.0.0.4.386.48706 (2022/05/03)

FWIW, I have just bitten the bullet and upgraded my 4 x XT8 mesh network from trusty old 42095 to 48706. To my enormous surprise, the upgrade (via the app) was applied to all nodes quickly and successfully, AND everything seems to be working OK. 1 hour in and no Sky Q drops, which plagued...

    Open ports? Newbie question

    Thanks again. Very helpful.

    Open ports? Newbie question

Thanks for this. So presumably my Tado and Philips Hue are constantly (periodically?) polling, checking the respective servers to see if there's any new instructions?

    Open ports? Newbie question

Hi folks I must confess, although computer savvy, I am not very clued up on networking. I want my home network to be as secure as possible, so I think I have all my ports closed and I am not port-forwarding anything. My question is this: How can e.g. Philips Hue and Tado control my lights...

Release ASUS ZenWiFi XT8 Firmware version 3.0.0.4.386.46061 (2022/01/14)

Perhaps not the place to ask this, but are people faring better with e.g. Orbi? I am pretty annoyed that I am still having to run 42095 in order to be able to watch TV on my Sky Q mini boxes. Everything after 42095 and I lose the picture every so many minutes. I am far from happy to be running...

    Release Asus XT8 - 3.0.0.4.386.43181 - 2021/06/17

Thanks for the note. How's the stability generally? I have a XT8 mesh with wireless backhaui and Sky Q mini boxes, direct connected to XT8s via ethernet. With any firmware other than 42095, the Sky Q minis lock up and I lose the picture ever hour or two. Basically completely unworkable. 42095...

    Release Asus XT8 - 3.0.0.4.386.43181 - 2021/06/17

Bumping an old thread here, but has ANYONE got a stable XT8 mesh network with wireless backhaul, on ANYTHING other than 42095? It's utterly ridiculous (and appalling) that everyone is stuck on a firmware release that is 8 months old and 4 versions out of date.

    Sorry, which revision?

    Release Asus XT8 - 3.0.0.4.386.43181 - 2021/06/17

In Asus's defence (not much of a defence tbf) then at least 42095 has been rock solid for me. It runs for weeks on end without any dropped connections or glitches of any kind. That's with a main AX8 router and 3 x AX8 nodes. The whole system is fast and stable. ... so long as I stay on...

    Release Asus XT8 - 3.0.0.4.386.43181 - 2021/06/17

I sent mine also. Can't believe how on earth they released some of the latest firmware versions.

    Release Asus XT8 - 3.0.0.4.386.43181 - 2021/06/17

FYI I upgraded to 3.0.0.4.386.43181 yesterday and it has been dreadful. I run Sky Q mini boxes around the house, connected to XT8 satellites via Ethernet. And the satellites using wireless backhaul to the main XT8 router. All of the Sky mini boxes would lose the picture every 10 to 20 minutes...

    XT8 Weird wifi password problem

Yes otherwise all fine. And no, I run an XT8 as a router and 3 XT8 nodes. BTW same thing just happened this morning. All devices kicked off and password mysteriously changed itself, dropping the " mark off the end. A simple fix I am sure will be to pick a different WiFi password that doesn't...

    XT8 Client List

This seems buggy as hell to me, and I just wondered if others experience the same? For example, I have Sky Q mini boxes connected over ethernet to separate XT8 nodes, shown as connected to the same node. i.e. wrong. I have devices connected over wifi which are in fact over ethernet Some...

    XT8 Weird wifi password problem

I'll post this here in case anyone else experiences the same problem and cannot find the solution! ... I woke up this morning and looking at my phone, noticed it was on 4G, not connected to my wifi as normal. So I tried to connect, but it steadfastly would not. I tried both 5 and 2.4GHz bands...

    Weird XT8 Bug

FYI I have the lights off on my XT8 nodes and they are stable.

Absolutely unable to add new XT8 node to existing XT8 network. Any ideas?

As an addendum to this, I should add that having finally got everything set up, I am very pleased with the units. I am getting a reliable connection and decent speeds all around the house. It's been rock solid for several weeks now. My only quandry is this: I want to add another node and would...

Absolutely unable to add new XT8 node to existing XT8 network. Any ideas?

OK, I will post this here for the benefit of other poor sods who may find themselves Googling here for a solution. I have spent all day on this, but FINALLY managed to get it all working. I tried everything to get this to work: Updated the new XT8 node firmware Loaded factory defaults Reset by...

Absolutely unable to add new XT8 node to existing XT8 network. Any ideas?

OK I finally managed to access the GUI, updated the firmware to latest version and tried again. Still no joy. I am stumped. How can it be this difficult to add a new XT8 to an existing XT8 mesh network. I mean honestly if the same kit is not easily compatible with itself, what on earth are you...
