RT-N66U site survey to show own channels

Hi I am remotely managing a RT-N66U (RT-N66U_3.0.0.4_374.35_4-sdk5) and have two suggestions for Site Survey (thanks for bringing it into the fw!): 1) show own channels When I do a site survey, I cannot see the channels the N66U is transmitting, other than through hovering over the Wifi...

    Guest networks unsafe?

Hi I have a hard time to understand how setting up a guest network can be made really safe. My network: 1. Main cable router (DHCP 192.168.10.1) and switch 2. RT-N66U Connected with WAN port to switch. Can be set as: a) wireless router for use by guests only b) wireless access point for use...

You cannot Login unless logout another user first.

@RMerlin Yes I know I like to tinker and try out, dont we all? That is exactly why this is a nuisance. (and the "rebooting" when changing certain parameters, but that is another nuisance :) ) I am coming from a series of routers (Fritz box 7340 7360 7390) where this was not necessary. It...

RT-AC56U WPS button to toggle radio

This seems a useful feature "Turning WPS button into a radio on/off toggle" ...but I cannot find the setting on this router, running fw 3.0.0.4.374.37 Am I overlooking it? PS apologies: it concerns a Merlin build, please move this under Asuswrt-Merlin forum

    RT-N66U port forwarding https

Solved. The solution is to make separate entries for each external port and map it to a single internal port. So: xxx50 -> 5000 xxx51 -> 5001 Port range forwarding does not work (properly) with SSL.

    RT-N66U port forwarding https

Hi I am new to this router. I set port forwarding to an internal NAS (Synology) as follows: from external port yyy50:yyy51 to 192.160.xx.xx internal port 5000 (assuming the Asus will understand 5000-5001) When I try to access it, eg to reach the NAS GUI: I get SSL connection error, the page...

    Teaser-time!

I ordered the ac56 in addition and will send back the n66. Thought being that the firmware is or will be stable and that once ac wlan is official and needed I will get some access points. I now want to have the fastest and most stable router to last me for many years. It needs to keep up with...

    Teaser-time!

Thanks for taking the time to answer yet another of those questions :) I am about to purchase as you say: Does this person have a valid point? http://forums.smallnetbuilder.com/showthread.php?p=95739 Oh and have these routers noisy fans and/or are they relatively quiet?

    Teaser-time!

I just ordered the rt-n66 because I only care about improving fast wired and wifi bgn 2.5 and 5 ghz reach and throughput. Other important consideration is not to get stuck with (future but soon) increasing needs for situations where openvpn clients need local netflix and fast nas backup...
