    Roaming Assistant Totally Broken?

I have been having issues for months now with my setup (AX86S primary and AC86U aimesh node). Finally took a deep dive into the logs while devices were having issues (refusing to connect to the network or having no internet access). Turns out it was the roaming assistant causing devices to...

Beta Asuswrt-Merlin 386.7 Beta is now available

I dont think there is any benefit in using merlinwrt vs stock firmware when the router is a node.

Beta Asuswrt-Merlin 386.7 Beta is now available

Ya I hate that switch since I have some devices that set their own static IP. I always forget to revert it back to the 192.168.1.0/24

Beta Asuswrt-Merlin 386.7 Beta is now available

Anyone else worried that the AX86 series hasnt gotten a firmware update since January 11th, 2022? I am wondering if there is a known issue with these routers.

    No-ip LetsEncrypt still not working

Nevermind it was an issue on No-ip's end. Apperently they had 2 passwords associated with my account and the old one said "successful" on the router webpage but it wasnt actually updating the IP on no-ips end so letsencrypt would fail because the IP address was incorrect. Got it resolved with...

    No-ip LetsEncrypt still not working

Has anyone been able to get no-ip to work with MerlinWRT? It works on Stock Asus firmware with lets encrypt but on merlinwrt I always get this error. Apr 23 15:40:11 kernel: numus.no-ip.org:Verify error:71.120.206.23: Fetching http://numus.no- ll-known/acme-challenge/************k: Timeout...

    More RT-AX58U woes

Getting off topic so this is my last post about it but you may want to do more research because that is assuming the ac58/ac3000 is the same as the tuf-ac3000, which the fcc cert says it isn't, the tuf-3000 is the same as the ac82u. Found the post you are referring to (there are multiple on snb...

    More RT-AX58U woes

Do you have proof the ax58 is software limited and not cut on the die or pcb?

    More RT-AX58U woes

No idea where this keeps coming from but it isn't exactly true. The reason they have the same FCC ID is because they were listed under the same FCC application and were bundled when testing, but the AX82 and AX58 specifically were each individually evaluated, and they have independent FCC...

    More RT-AX58U woes

I just returned by AX58u and got the AX82 (was the only other asus router bestbuy had on the shelf). Night and day the AX82 has been a better experience than the AX58.

    Any future support for AX82U?

Cool so what part of Post 2 are you referring to? Since it ticks every box except the parts about Merlin having them and/or wanting to support it, which there is no way I would know without him saying so.

    Any future support for AX82U?

Wondering with the recent GPL fixes if the AX82 will get any support from merlin... I recently exchanged my AX58 for the AX82

    YazFi YazFi v4.x

Thanks... just wanted to confirm that when I set 2 and 1 way to no it still disabled intranet access which is appears to.

    YazFi YazFi v4.x

Is YazFI the reason why access intranet keeps getting enabled? I have 2 and 1 way to guest disabled in YazFi but on the main guest settings it keeps enabling intranet access.

    Mesh Node not releasing clients

So I disabled Roaming Assistant and now all my devices aren't migrating to the AC86U mesh node and staying there... I think something may be broken in the latest firmware and Roaming Assistant.

    Mesh Node not releasing clients

The QNAP runs it in a virtual machine with a virtual network host.

    AX56U - as a mesh node

You can get pcie wifi cards for fairly cheap that work really well. I never liked USB wifi dongles because the bandwidth available is usually shared among most of the USB ports .

    Mesh Node not releasing clients

It isn't. Reason I had to put a mesh Node downstairs and with the primary router upstairs was because I was having issues with stuff like the wireless doorbell camera and blink sync module that are downstairs. Also need a switch downstairs (put my qnap and some other stuff downstairs) so the...

    Mesh Node not releasing clients

Idk... On my cell phone I could only get 200 Mbps at fast.com on the ac86.. when I switched to the ax58 I am getting over 400 Mbps at the same distance and everything. I have gigabit fiber and everything has been more stable since switching the primary router from the ac86 to the ax58. Same 5ghz...
