Your traceroute gives it away. Although I will admit I overlooked that line and thought Austin.

I’m stuck with Suddenlink out here in Pflugerville. But pings and traceroutes are stable as long as my upstream isn’t saturated

Back to my original question. I'm thinking a utility that would continuously ping the next hop on the cable network and build a model to find the standard deviation. As soon as the ping times went past average + N * stdDev (probably tune this, but thinking N = 2 to start with) that, it would...

I have the fastest service they sell in my section of the neighborhood. Last year the best they would offer me was 18mbps x 1.5mpbs, so at least it went up. Yes, it would be a win/win. I feel like 5G might be my only hope, but at the same time, it's pending rollout is probably why I don't have...

Here is a snapshot of my cable modem usage for the last week, speedtest results, and all the stats from the cable modem. Yes, there is a problem. But the correctable and uncorrectable error spikes don't correlate with the performance issues. I deleted one speedtest result from influxdb...

I've posted in DSL reports. We also have a very close neighborhood facebook group where we actually avoid politics, events, and anything that's not important. We are all suffering with terrible cable service, and the cable company just doesn't care. They are also only running 4 upstream...

    Stacking UPS? (Without Transfer Switch)

Linking the DC Bus might actually work (I never considered this), but my gut tells me that it would be a really bad idea. You still wouldn't get more peak output from the inverter. I thinking running cheap aftermarket batteries on those connections would be far safer, and give you more runtime.

OpenVPN on Orbi for Transmission on Voxel

It's pretty much the same case as exclusion. Doing it for all Transmission clients wouldn't be easy, but doing it for the Orbi would be. If you point me towards a guide you think looks easy to follow, I'll post a short message on how to do it. I just deployed an old server as my...

TLDR, skip to the last paragraph. I currently have a Dell PowerEdge R210 II running Ubuntu as my Firewall router. It has an additional network interface to give me a total of 3. I have what used to be a very fast cable modem connection (1 gbps x 50 mbps), and a DSL connection (50 x 10 mbps)...

    Voxel Custom firmware build for Orbi RBK50/RBK53 (RBR50, RBS50) v. 9.2.5.1.13.1SF-HW

Really forever. As far as I know you'll have to load updates the same way you switched to Voxel's firmware, and find out about new versions here.

    Voxel Custom firmware build for Orbi RBK50/RBK53 (RBR50, RBS50) v. 9.2.5.1.13.1SF-HW

Enabling the VLAN support using the GUI has given me horrible routing performance. I switched my primary connection back to cable this AM by rebooting the router to swap the VLANs back to their normal state. I ran a speedtest from my laptop (wired gigabit) and it came back at 100 x 22...

    Voxel Custom firmware build for Orbi RBK50/RBK53 (RBR50, RBS50) v. 9.2.5.1.13.1SF-HW

I can reproduce this. I think it's best to ignore it. It seems that the app is having a hard time with the alpha suffix on this version, since neither of those versions are available from Netgear.

    Voxel Custom firmware build for Orbi RBK50/RBK53 (RBR50, RBS50) v. 9.2.5.1.13.1SF-HW

This firmware is nice. Thank you Ok, further reboots and dropbear is working for me. While the satellites work as expected, the RBR won't accept my admin password. I used the overlay to populate authorized keys, so I guess it doesn't matter. I did set the root password from telnet, and that...

    Voxel Custom firmware build for Orbi RBK50/RBK53 (RBR50, RBS50) v. 9.2.5.1.13.1SF-HW

I just flashed this firmware today. I didn't factory reset (I'd really rather not). Dropbear didn't start up. I enabled telnet as if the firmware were stock, and I'm trying to figure out what stopped it.

    Voxel Custom firmware build for Orbi RBK50/RBK53 (RBR50, RBS50) v. 9.2.5.1.13.1SF-HW

I was interested in documentation, a howto or quickstart guide for packing my own images. But don't worry, the USB overlay support enables virtually limitless customization.

    Voxel Custom firmware build for Orbi RBK50/RBK53 (RBR50, RBS50) v. 9.2.5.1.13.1SF-HW

Is there any documentation around building images if I wanted to make my own changes? I'm excited about the USB hooks you've setup, as it will take care of anything I truly need, but I'm really curious. I'm hoping to enable VLANs, and try to get some sort of dual WAN configuration. All from...
